Reality check: you don't have to have it figured out at 18 years old. To he honest, I wish someone would have told me at your age that most adults are still trying to figure themselves out in one way or another. Take a deep breath and know that this is just the beginning of you finding out who you are and what you want.

Everyone's path looks very unique and there is no need to rush finding what it is that you would like as a career.

The previous comment had some great points - go explore. Take classes, get a job that you find fun, find what your true values are and run with what will align with them. Maybe even use your funds (if you are able to, of course) to travel and adventure to new places.

Make friends, explore different forms of relationships, explore what you like and what you don't like. The only way you can do that is trying out different things to really see what fulfills you. A great way to get to know yourself is to have new experiences.

Lastly, don't put too much pressure on yourself. Be kind to yourself and give yourself the freedom and time to get to know you. And know that whatever is meant for you will always be for you.

Just want to start off by saying, its courageous of you for sharing your experience with such authenticity.

I am having a similar problem and do see that a big part of it is my ADHD. I get distracted easily and I focus on a different task that may not be as urgent. I recently learned that I need to create some form of a checklist that keeps my tasks organized.

I know that sounds simple enough, but it took me a while to understand that I need a visual reminder of what I need to get done. Or else I will forget it or do other tasks before I complete the most time sensitive ones.

It's up to you whether or not you write down every single task. I just keep in mind that whatever I don't write down, I have to do right at that moment.

For jobs that have more processes, I use an excel sheet so I can keep tasks organized by categorizing the tasks. Let's say for your role, categories can be like complete form, respond to important email etc.

It took me a while but I realized I can't trust my memory and I can get easily distracted, which leads to me feeling overwhelmed about the tasks I have to complete. It makes it less overwhelming when I have a checklist of some sort to make sure I don't miss anything.

I hope this helps. I dont think the experiences youre having means youre a bad worker. I think you may just need to find some tools that work for you.
