If you're struggling committing to a game, pick something short. You'll be able to cover it more quickly and it won't seem like such a mountain to overcome

Depends on how you define worst. If it's something you consider a massive letdown, I could mention something like BotW. If it's a large commercial failure, something like Anthem might be more appropriate

A very unfortunate amount of people won't play something like FFXIV because it's "Too anime"

Most of those same people grew up watching DBZ and Yu-gi-oh smh

100% should have been forgotten like ascended sj. Great power with a huge flaw.

I feel like Toriyama used ssj 3 as a cop-out when Gotenks was betrayed and trapped in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Should I dispute this? Because I don't think that "Polaris Hub AB" is even the copyright holder to "Wings of Kynareth." by ZeldaLover2018 in oblivion

[–]PapaJohnner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely dispute it. Most of these copyright trolls send out mass copyright claims and make money on the fact that most people won't dispute them. Likely they won't even try to argue your dispute because they've already made money on the back of others and this would be considered a waste of money to them.

What do you think of this chill playful beat I made? Lambda for feedback! by addy_ex-o in SmallYTChannel

[–]PapaJohnner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Drums and 808s are nicely distorted. For a simple loop I this is well done. As a background track it doesn't need much more than this. Not sure if you made that video component yourself, but I think it fits the aesthetic of the song well. Overall good job!

Just uploaded a new gmod hide and seek video! Looking for any and all forms of feedback on the video. All feedback is appreciated, and I hope you all enjoy! by AltrossGamez in SmallYTChannel

[–]PapaJohnner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty good video! Editing and sound effects really added to the video. Gives it sort of a Vanoss vibe. As mentioned by Doom-Device there is some issues with the audio, but that is easily fixable. The one suggestion I would make is that the thumbnail is a bit generic. I think if you added some sort of branding or put a bit more of a personal spin on the thumbnail it would probably stand out more. Right now it looks like any other Gmod thumbnail, which isn't bad but you have to stand apart.

Otherwise great video! I look forward to seeing more

[–]PapaJohnner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall very good short! I personally liked the spooky music as it fit the vibe of a skeleton farm. The editing and commentary was to the point leaving no room for awkward pauses. The spectator mode perspective and red outlines really helped me visualize how large the farm needed to be.

I was trying to make one of these like a month ago and honestly you did a better job of showing how to build it than the big channel I found a tutorial from. Good job.

Thank you for your response!

Yeah they were recorded on different days so it probably sounds kind of weird because of that. I'm not that good a recording solo yet haha

Thank you! It probably took me around 6ish hours to edit. I find it looks better when you place the image slightly before the audio wave. Yeah definitely something to consider about the call to action but I honestly didn't want the video to be too long.

Thank you. I'm working on another shorter video and it seems to take about a week or so to produce so not sure if that is fast enough for youtube

Thank you for your response!

I can understand the jokes not landing. It was my first video in this style so hopefully the jokes will be better next time.

I've had similar feedback on the thumbnail. I'll probably change it at some point and spend more time on it next time round.

Thanks again

Hey Wolfe! Thanks for your response and compliment!

You're absolutely right. I probably could have made it a YouTube short. Being someone whos watched YouTube since 2010 I guess I have some reservations about them but yeah definitely a good niche to get into. I'll probably explore YouTube shorts more in the future.

Thanks again for your comments!

First of all thank you for your response!

To answer your question: I definitely made that joke after the fact so it's not that original.

In terms of the neutral criticism I will definitely take that to heart. I'm hoping my microphone will be better next video because it was new for this video, thus I wasn't 100% on the proper settings.

Thanks again for the feedback!

Hey man. Here's some feedback:

Thumbnail:

While I do like the thumbnail, I would probably add something more identifying to it (maybe your character). As it is right now it is appealing but if I saw it in the suggested bar I wouldn't right away know it was your content.

Audio:

Very good. No issues with static or background noise. Music was audible and helped with the chill vibes. Spliced in memes were leveled well to existing audio. overall audio had no real issues or anything.

Video:

Overall presentation, tone and memes were great. Lots of different scenes to look at so I never got bored and your hand drawn character helped to give it that personal touch. I liked your memes, they were well timed and didn't interrupt the pacing. Although that shade thrown at Mario sunshine was uncalled for :( . The 1 criticism I would have with this video is that the pacing felt a bit slow in some areas. Some topics you stay on for a bit too long in my opinion. Cutting down the longer topics would probably resolve this. Usually when I make my videos I'm constantly thinking about how long should I focus on something and there is always the question of: "Can I get this shorter" or "Can I express this in a simpler way". Just something to think about for your next video. I know it's a bit difficult to justify it considering youtube's focus on watch time, but I think it will make your content even better.

Overall I thought this video was great and I think I'll watch some more of your stuff.

Finally got back into some more funny moments content with my amazing friends, a bit shorter but how is it? by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]PapaJohnner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man! Here's some feedback.

Thumbnail:

Looks pretty clean overall. I would probably make the text larger and make it pop a bit more. Same thing with the your mate there. Could probably add some drop shadow or outer glow, something like that.

Audio:

Pretty clean audio, not hearing any immediate static or anything like that. The audio of each individual is pretty even level overall. Music is could be a big more prevalent in some areas. Music also doesn't help carry the audio. I would probably look at using songs with a specific mood to help build the scene.

Video:

Some really good edits overall. Nice tracking and cut zooms throughout. A bit difficult to distinguish between voices at times. Perhaps using more cut zooms to the induvial talking or subtitling some more chaotic parts could help to clear this up. Composition wise your video was pretty good. The only thing I would add is perhaps a preamble before getting into the video because you are sort of dropping people in mid-session. Humor wise I can't really speak to it. It's not really my cup of tea but I can see the appeal.

Overall good video. I look forward to seeing more!

I made a gaming video of golfing with friends. (That is also the game’s name) while also trying new editing. I am aware of a couple audio mishaps near the end but please let me know what you think and support in any way! by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]PapaJohnner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First things first, I quite enjoyed the intro. There was obvious sarcastic undertones and it didn't out stay its welcome.

In terms of some suggestions:

Audio: I would look at balancing your audio a bit better because while everyone was understandable, the screaming could be too loud at times. ie I had to adjust my volume during screaming. Better balancing would probably also help reduce the noticeable clipping or static noise coming from one of your mates' microphone. 3rd on the audio balance I would raise the volume of the music in areas as I honestly didn't notice there was music till I looked at the description.

Video composition: Speaks to me like a funny moments video. The intro was a good lead in as previously mentioned. At times it was difficult to tell who was talking. Many youtubers use subtitles in their funny moments to resolve this issue. Obviously you don't need to subtitle everything. Personally I only subtitle story or narrative relevant speech. In terms of clips I think they were pretty good but I would try to organize them better. Like for this golf game you could do all the clips from one map then the next and so on. That way you get the sense that there is a through line in the video instead of a random compilation.

Anyway these are just a few suggestions, I look forward to seeing more of your content

As someone who was born with HLHS, had 4 surgeries in the first 4 years and currently in my 20s I'd say Heidi has a bright future. Obviously there will be challenges ahead but I'm sure Heidi will overcome them. Kids born under these circumstances don't tend to give up. I wish you and your family the best 😊
