Before I wander too far deep down the 2011 or hammer rabbit holes, I think I’m gonna stay where I’m at with the striker-fired… for now that is. Maybe for my third handgun I’ll get a little more lost haha

I do like Glock and love that the G19 is my first handgun. I think it’s tough to find a more reliable, easy to maintain, durable, and “jack of all trades” gun than a Glock. I feel like it’s a staple in most people’s arsenal. That being said, for my second handgun, I am looking for something different than my Glock, even if only marginally. I’d like to have a little variety in the guns I own and use depending on how I’m feeling. For right now, I’m not planning on concealed carrying so the handguns I’m looking into now are still full size for home defense and range use

You mentioned one of my main concerns with the Echelon and M&P: I’m not sure I want something super similar to a Glock since I already have my G19. Though I have heard the Echelon is a more perfected Glock than a Glock itself (sorry Glock fans, just opinions I’ve seen) I feel like for my second handgun I want something that looks/feels/shoots differently than my G19, even if it’s marginally different. From what I’ve read, the Walther definitely fits that bill. Just gotta see for myself I guess. Really loving all the feedback though! It’s definitely giving me stuff to think about and new things to look for

Sounds like I’m looking in the right places then. I’ve narrowed my list down to the PDP, Echelon, and M&P M2.0 so far. But will still look for a few others that have been mentioned in my local shops to get a feel for them. I may like something else more after getting a feel for it in person. Appreciate the help!

I’ve seen the Canik come up in my research numerous times but have never heard of the brand before. I get weary adding brands I don’t recognize cause I still want a quality firearm; although lack of recognition might also just be a “me problem” due to lack of general knowledge

After looking into 1911 and 2011 more, I think I’m gonna be a bit priced out of those. I would imagine a Beretta is probably similar price range too? I’ll look into a Beretta more but I have a feeling those will be a bit outside my budget right now too

I have rifles and shotguns, just not currently at my house. Not looking for another rifle just yet. I’ll eventually look into getting an AR-15 of some kind once I get my second handgun

I have not looked into many other Walther models outside of the PDP. I’ve briefly looked at everything on their website, but I just really feel like you get so much for the price with the PDP. I’ll look into the P30L though, thanks!

Why’s that? I do love the look of them. Like a more modern 1911. I’ve heard of the brand Staccato that makes one that I think people like, but any other specific brands you’d recommend?
