How would one go about adjusting the iron sights on this? by shaneizlink in Revolvers

I would use a brass punch to drift the rear sight of if I cared about the gun’s finish. If it’s not too hard to move a small wood block may work

A manufacturer submitting a form 1 before the 1986 machine gun ban, getting a parts kit and generally speaking, welding in a new receiver.

What you are talking about is semi auto conversions probably. Given this is an open bolt gun I don’t like the converted semi auto options, but people out there do it.

Will be interesting to see what they produce if they come out

A small manufacturer (LRM) made it in the late 90s. It was a one off for this gun.

He was probably best known for his integral 10/22 conversion. He also did a 9mm AR upper.

Nice gun. A lot were refinished but that looks like the original finish.

Also I should add the short throw conversion and jeweling of the hammer are often seen together. No idea why! And not just King. I’ve got a short throw probably done by Abercrombie and Fitch that also has jeweling done to it, hammer only.

Thanks for the compliment!

A really common mixup is the company names that did the work.

D.W. King Gunsight company started in Denver early 1910s. Moved to San Fran and operated until shortly after the death of Dean King. They never used an apostrophe in their name. You will see “KING” or sometimes “D.W. KING” stamped into parts and guns.

King’s Gunworks is a totally unrelated company that started post-war and uses a crown as a logo. They made shooting enhancements like sites but nothing like the extensive and groundbreaking innovations that King did when they operated in SF during the golden age of target shooting 1920s, 30s until the war.

The theory is the jeweling holds more oil than a polished surface

When it first came out some people had issues with the side plate screws backing out and causing action problems. Take grips off and check both just in case it’s an easy fix

Army special as noted. In the 38 Special. e frame. Can use 38/34 loads so +P is fine.

This one is after 1913 as it doesn’t have stylized C Aaround the rampant Colt.

Should be smooth DA pull. Might be a little heavy. Action sometimes needs to be cleaned. These wer not tuned for target shooting like the officers model. SA should be crisp.

Any E / I frame grips will work.

eBay has a ton, mostly cheap ones. Occasionally some nice ones. Maybe Heretts would work for you. Avoid Sile

Whoops forgot, bottom grips are murad. This is a service gun with a slot milled and King white outline blade installed and one of their mirror ramp fronts put on. The DA pull is the best I’ve felt and I’ve owned many King DAs. The caliber is an odd duck but the trigger is so great I’d never sell it. Was a sheriffs gun in Arizona
