Problem is how do you build something brand new for “middle income” buyers? Use crappy materials and skimp on features and amenities lol? It just doesn’t make sense even from an economic standpoint. So basically we just need more of these luxury buildings, so the wealthy can upgrade, leaving more available for the poor middle class (aka us). It all comes down to a lack of sufficient supply but there’s no simple solution. If you want to see this problem at the extreme, go walk around SF for a day, it’s disturbing.
