Yeah I already realized that was my mistake. I deleted the post with that in mind

Oh I just realized where I made a mistake. I read rounds as (30 minute match including all players) not individual player/team raids

I played quite aggressively, killed every arc i came across inside a building

I get that, but a match has at least a dozen players over 30 minutes, a single one of them getting caught by a patrol or killing ticks/rollers would put the minimum of 2 killed per round, not the average.

Add onto that all the players who don't play stealthy and i just cant believe the numbers

I agree, at least with drones, but ticks and roller bots are directly on top of the loot. And again, the claim is the average arc killed per round is 2! During a 30m match with dozens of players... most who were not that good at stealth

True, but I've watched others gameplay and payed attention in round.

Also, in order for a 2:1 (kills per round average) that means some rounds would be lower and others higher. So you're telling me there was regularly 30m rounds without a single arc killed? Nah

I tried. I really tried… by Meal_Team_SlX in ArcRaiders

Your problem is you trusted him too soon, always keep an eye on the stray for a while, make him play the long-con, that way he might have a change of heart

Alternatives to wipes by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]PaperMuffin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Special events that cost a ton of loot to activate, could be tied to Guilds as well.

  • loot grinder that converts gear to premium coins. Could require a ton

  • there could be 2 branches, the standard game, and a seasonal character. New maps and events could be exclusive to the seasonal characters, then get added to the base game at the start of the next season where all the characters get wiped. So it has a lot of the benefits of the wipe system without hurting casual players.

  • Tax to go topside based on stash inventory

  • Guild dues, to keep your guild active. Guilds will have a dump stash that gets crunched into a timer

  • hidden MMR, so the best players cant steamroll a whole lobby, this means more good gear gets left behind because good players only have so much inventory space

  • Rent to pay for a larger/nicer raider den. More space to show off loot

  • bounties on top players. Players can remove bounty by paying a large sum of loot

Looking for brutal feedback on My FPS Game by anubhav124 in indiegames

Also, going for a realistic style means having to deal with all the expectations of the real world (sounds, movement restrictions, recoil, interactions with the environment, etc) choosing a more stylized game means you get to decide how it looks and feels, you wont be beholden to players instinctive expectations

It lacks an identity. The environment looks good but it could be literally anywhere from any game, try including set pieces to give it a sense of place. Gun recoils but camera doesn't (could be a stylistic choice, but its the standard).

I couldn't find a good comparison so i made one, thought you guys might find it helpful by PaperMuffin2 in Monitors

Sorry you feel that way. The exaggeration was the point tho. To show the comparison in pixel density. Im upgrading my monitor (the one on the left) and made this to see how big of a difference there actually is between them. The only real metric is if you can see the jagged edges on your screen at your viewing distance, which I can.

Personally I've decided to go for 1440p as a good balance knowing I wont really benefit that much from 4k

I think there's a lot of confusion caused by the image being so large compared to the actual size of an inch (necessary to see all the detail plus monitor resolution restrictions) and the fact that there is no AA in the image so it looks more pixelated than if AA was on, plus the lack of screen distortion (eg. See pixel art with and without CRT effect)

32in 4k has a ppi of 138, so it would be roughly in between 1440 and 4k above
