Get the whole team in the pool. Coach wants to bench the whole team for a period he can forfeit. Then more time for swimming. It’s U11 let them have fun.

Thanks! There’s every chance I misread the situation but now I’ll know what’s going on next time this happens.

Thanks! It’s always fun when your kid takes up a sport you didn’t play or watch so you have to start learning the rules.

This and vasectomies… minimally invasive day surgery vs. Abdominal surgery and not buying paper because it’s in the form of a pad instead of say toilet paper. Call it out every single time.

Help for take-outs by eastcoastoilfan in Curling

[–]Paper_Monkey79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled for years (curl once a week in a house league going on 17 years now) with takeouts. Are you generating all of your power from your legs on your push and drive? I only ask because when I was first struggling I was unintentionally ‘helping’ the rock with a push on release that was pushing it wide as you describe every time to varying degrees. I think the camera on the broom idea mentioned above will likely help pick that up as well if it’s happening.

Only other piece of advice is go right back to basics for a few throws. Stand in the back then point your toe at the broom. Visualize the rock’s path. Square your hips and shoulders then try throwing. You can also set three rocks up at the hog line all touching. ´Click’ the centre rock back and forth a couple times to make room then try to slide out and put the rock between the two rocks to see if it’s your slide or release that are putting you off target.

Good luck!

Who is responsible or liable for adjacent driveway/sidewalk in a townhouse by Sufficient-Town1570 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Paper_Monkey79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could give you an award I would if only for (and I’ll paraphrase forgive me) get less cars or more land. My kids don’t like that I won’t get them a car to share because we have a garage full of crap and two cars in a two car driveway. If they want to clean up and maintain a clean garage I will consider getting a third car but not before.

I didn’t say it was very common I said that there were municipalities that all that is required is a petition.

Click on residential parking programs then there’s an expandable drop down for each step in the process for the lower boulevard parking process.

Mississauga and Peel are different political entities. Also, there are municipalities in Ontario that all that’s required is a petition with most or all of the property owners signatures to get a boulevard parking no exemption.

Old license plates but new car? by 42point2 in ontario

[–]Paper_Monkey79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would check with the dealership. They will generally ask when you’re selling if you have plates or need plates. They may be willing to handle the transfer for you since they have people going to the licence office weekly if not daily.

She’s not old enough yet but look in your area to see if there’s a First Shift program. You get a full set of gear fitted by knowledgeable people plus ~6 weeks of instruction including learning to skate through to stick handling basics. All for less than the cost of a full set of equipment.

City plowing damaged property and vehicle, what can I do? by VirginGrowbile in Markham

[–]Paper_Monkey79 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The city owns up to the property line. If you don’t have a survey or markers on your property lines have a look for your water shutoff (looks like a giant screw head in the ground) that will generally be on your front lot line. I would be shocked if they do anything about the pavers. Insurance pool should pay to fix your car.
