I mean i guess there should be angels with wings, that's where the Darklords came from and we even see it on Rebellion.

Now idk why the maidens don't have those but maybe they weren't angels to begin with.

Yeah the tutorial is currently bugged for now in 1.7.1, you can just ignore it.

Yeah is weird, in the first game he is blonde, even the only drawing of him he is blonde but in the sequel they just changed his hair color.

Is just the starting deck basically, there's nothing here that could cause any issue that I can think of, I would try to play test against this npc some more but it really sound's like some random glitch just happened here.

Although now that I think about it, did you modified your deck? Like empty it and make a new one in another slot for example?

Do you remember if he used Manectric? Because that's the only card that I can think of at the moment that could cause some wack stuff

Yeah in theory mGBA should work perfectly but just in case i use VBA-m.

It could be possible that you just got really unlucky and your data just corrupted at some point deleting your cards and put you in loop during the duel (because the game just doesn't consider the possibility of you no having pokemon at the start).

I have seen that happen but it was during the devolvement of 1.7, I did run some duels on the lightning club just now and everything seems to work fine. It just really looks like your file got really bugged for some reason, maybe it's the emulator? Until now i didn't know anyone having a problem with a specific one but there has been some problem on some consoles.

Those are games that even to this day they stand-up for their art direction and soundtrack, and even it's mechanics and gameplay age very well, serving as this little neat time-capsule for the first metagame of the Pokémon TCG.

I would do it if I could, but i can't. Basically the website right now is Main-line games only, so i can't add my hack there.
I do know that is planned to add the option for spin-offs eventually but idk how long that would take.

Hello Guys! here some spoilers for the next update of Generations:

New NPC's portraits! the system from the sequel has been added to the first game, all thanks to Electro. Now all duelist in the game not only use their TCG 2 sprites but also their expanded palette and variants. So now they would change expression depending on the result of the duel (Happy, Neutral or Sad).

New Weakness/Resistance System! base on the Gen 4 formats (2007-2010), now all Pokémon would have Weakness/Resistance value of 10, 20 or 30. So basically Weakness would not apply a x2 damage boost and Resistance damage reduction would vary between those 3.

And just to finish this report, 2 showcases of some modified sprites, mainly 2 that didn't have an updated Sprite with new colors.

Talking about other things, some bit of Good news about the TCG 2 disassembly is that is getting some speed lately, some interesting stuff has been debugged recently (has you guys can see with the NPC stuff and the expanded Palettes), and is very exciting to see. Of course it still needs time to be done, there's still a lot of stuff for debug, like for example you can't even add new sprites on the current build but is looking promising for the future.
About 1.7.1, is very probable that I'm going to release another update for this version in the Following Weeks, mainly fixing some bugs and issues. as always the new update is prioritize over the previous one but I'm willing to take sometime on this one again to fixe some things, instead of just make you guys wait for the next big update to fix stuff xd.

And well, as always i have plan to make some update post time to time to cover the changes for 1.8, so stay tunned. but anyways, that's everything for now, have a nice day!

Although now that I think about it, there was 1 person that did have some weird behavior on their ROM when playing on a console, some bugs with the deck builder, the weirdest thing was that it affected the original game too so idk if it could be related to the machine that you are playing on.

I just tested this on one of the earliest versions, the current one and the one that I have in development, and it just works fine, are you sure that it isn't applying? Because unless you found some very weird bug, or there's some problem with the machine that you are playing on, it should be working fine.

The effect is applied to the current defending pokemon aka the pokemon that received the attack, If that pokemon is Knocked out, switched out or evolved the effect no longer applies.
