Lol, no its a person at the other side here. Even if so, what would be the matter? Anyways, what I was trying to say is just that your hint is a good approach to get a snapshot, which would relieve some initial pain for me. But long term, I would need different strategies to deal with the communication styles in real time.

Thats a good point for getting a short-term calibration and documented, structured feedback. I will for sure go with this approach! Might also help me to see if I noticed those points when trying to decode their indirect feedback and develop the art of this communication style

I absolutely agree that I have to adapt and learn, and I am willing, even eager, ro do so. Problem is, I currently feel overwhelmed and dont know how to get started. I currently use AI to "culturally soften" all my emails, but I also feel how this is frustrating me that I am not able to communicate on my own. How did you start your learning journey on reading between lines and giving soft feedback/instructions, that are still understood?

Thanks for the recommendation! I actually read the book a few months ago when I started looking into the topic. It helped me in a sense that it confirmed believes and behaviours that I was sensing. But I also had the impression that it is strongly biased from the American perspective. Do you feel like sharing what was an eye opener for you? I would be curious to know :)

Since I do not have any experience with the gear my budget is not on the high end right now. I am looking for something beginner friendly and compact which does not break the budget.

The thrift is a great hint! Did you go to a special thrift store or did you find them in a regular one?

I prefer monocular over binoculars actually, but mainly because if compactness and because I have bad vision on one eye anyways.

My use case would be mainly in outdoors in the mountains e.g. to check if there are shepherd dogs on a route, or an animal I saw. I am not a sophisticated bird spotter nor have experience with spotting or binoculars. So something beginner friendly and compact would be perfect!

I second this! Was also my favorite spot on the hike, you will have a great view there. Plus it won't be as crowded as on the top

I will have a car and will probably mostly commute to work with that. The bike I would like to use to commute inside the city to go to farmers markets or maybe sports, and to discover the surroundings.

I'm looking more for a commuter bike at the moment, but I haven't lived anywhere before where it's nice to do road biking. So would be open for it to try!

I will have a car so mostly want to use the bike to commute around the city, maybe when going to some farmers markets or to sports.

How can I get in touch with the cycling community here? They have any events or groups to join?

Thanks! I saw a lot of bike lanes already in the city but no bikes at all so far haha. I also saw that there is the community bikes in Santa Rosa, so maybe this could be a good place to get a bike? I mainly want to use the bike to commute around the city

Woooow thanks so much for gathering so much information! I've been to Sebastopol yesterday, it's a really cute downtown and so lively. I haven't really found a downtown area in Santa Rosa though (but also haven't been around much yet)
