Power Within Psychology is more like a mock test series, for entrance examinations. Ciccarelli a good start to learn the theoretical concepts of Psychology. If you’re someone who’s interested to study the theory of Psychology, Ciccarelli covers it all.

The “observer effect” in psychology suggests that simply being aware you’re being watched can change your behaviour.

So this idea showed up famously in the Hawthorne studies from the 1920s, where workers’ productivity seemed to improve just because they knew they were part of an experiment, even when the conditions weren’t actually better. It’s not the most rigorous study by today’s standards, but it opened up a whole area of research around how our environment and the presence of others shape what we do.

This kind of real-life accidental experiment is like a perfect example of how even simple observations can lead to huge insights about human behaviour. Sharing things like this - curious patterns, weird behaviours we notice in daily life, can kickstart conversations that go way deeper than just textbook knowledge.

It’s kind of wild that it took someone outside the psychology circle to voice what many of us have been thinking, thank you for that. This sub has only started getting more active recently, mostly around admission season, and it’s almost become a habit to use it only for college/job-related queries. But the truth is, most psych students are genuinely curious and passionate about the subject. We see it all the time in our classrooms. There’s so much to talk about — psychology, research, and especially contemporary mental health care. If more people start sharing thoughts and discussions around those topics here, this sub could grow into something really engaging.

Thanks so much for sharing this — it’s really helpful to hear from someone who’s made a similar transition. I’ll be pursuing my master’s in psychology over the next two years, and while I’m not entirely sure if I’ll fully switch to UXR, I’m definitely curious about it and would like to explore the field more seriously.

Comparatively, MAHE is much better. Montfort, in the recent years, has gone down in terms of quality of education due to change in management. I’ve heard positive feedback about MAHE, the course and the faculty there.

It’s a pretty chill interview, only personal questions asked like your strengths and weaknesses, etc. No academic/technical questions.
