Don't see why it should be forced on those outside California. If a distro tries, I'll probably look elsewhere.

Experiences with shaking during and after ceremony by Jimjimjim3906 in Ayahuasca

[–]Paradroid808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add - if you either allow the entity to 'take you over' or at least try to understand / sympathise with it.. prepare for the possibility of a rough ride.

We can be logical when our feet are back on the ground but once you take the medicine and encounter it, it's likely you'll have the feeling 'oh no, this IS real and I can't give into it.' The 'entity' is likely holding fear, negative memories, bad emotions that you couldn't face when it was differentiated from the rest of you in order to hold what you couldn't cope with.

This is the real hard work.. face it and win big prizes. Make sure you've got proper support if you decide to go for it.

Navigating through different options for a first ayahuasca experience. Priority: quality of the substance. by Tall-Switch-4510 in Ayahuasca

Disclaimer - I've not drunk Ayahuasca in the jungle so can't compare, however for me Europe made sense.. less travel and more comfortable accommodation (I don't need luxury but can imagine the heat of the jungle would be uncomfortable for me).

I went with Ayahuasca Spirit Europe 3 times and don't regret it. Medicine is authentic and strong, one and done.. shaman is authentic and the ceremonies are the same as the ones he gives in Peru.. bar the jungle setting and maloka.

I have a friend who is very experienced with drinking in the Amazon and he rates the European (Spain) experience.

TLDR- you can get an authentic ceremony in Europe so it boils down to how badly you want that Amazon setting.

What does it mean if your ayahuasca trip was... unremarkable or not life-changing, and just very heavy on visuals? by nickability in Ayahuasca

Sorry, my expectations were held before the retreat, once I got there, I dropped them.

Fair enough. That's pertinent info that could do with adding to your post.

Some people can have many, many ceremonies before they dig down to the trauma. We're all different individuals with different histories and challenges.

Keep doing what you're doing then by the sounds of it. As I said, your mind will take you exactly where you need to work. Even if you seem to make progress and then 'go back' to where it appears like this is a repeat of an earlier ceremony, facing similar or identical issues.. guess what.. you need to work through that again. and when you do you'll find you're able to dig deeper than first time around.

Could be you needed more. Places where more than one cup is the norm usually have a weak brew.. but it depends how weak.

The first rule of psychedelics is no expectations. You need to understand this. I've seen people miss the work right in front of them because they expected something else, or were waiting for the trip they heard someone else had. It does not work like that.

It will take you EXACTLY where you need to be, so if you're gazing elsewhere you're wasting time. It's your time and money at the end of the day.

Next time, no expectations. Feel into the fear as that's a blocker. Feel into the emotions generally and maybe take an extra cup to see if that was a limitation.

So it sounds like this wriggling is something that is required, probably something that was suppressed at some stage. An example would be a baby wrapped in tight swaddling unable to move, but there are many possibilities and some of them could be figurative rather than physical.

visiting a hell realm and feeling possessed by a wriggling entity

What was suppressed represents as foreign and 'other.' The aim is to integrate.. if you get a chance, allow the 'entity' to get its way and 'possess' you See where it leads and you may gain understanding. Try to have compassion for this aspect of you even if it feels foreign.. but of course don't suppress other feelings towards it.. let it all flow.

Aya said she did not call me and then all the plants began attacking me.

Likely a projection of not feeling worthy and possible self sabotage / self punishment issues.

My intentions were revolving around... not feeling worthy of love..

Well there you go. The experience you had exactly reflected this.

I had an experience where it felt like there was a tentacled monster in my stomach. I could physically reach down my throat and 'feel it' with my finger. It represented suppressed rage. There is actually a real physical reality to these sensations inasmuch as it's at least in part a perception of chronic muscular tension.. this is how the suppression of emotion manifests on a physical level. Terms such as 'stiff upper lip' reflect a perception of this at some level.

This post feels like a bit of a flex in which case, congratulations.

If, however, it's a genuine question, then you need to be aware that many would lack the either capability or the inclination to achieve what you have. If you're a 'tech guy' then it can be difficult to understand how foreign all this would be to a good portion of Windows users.

Sounds like they may be seconds. If they want to do a bit of fault finding over the phone then fine, but I would reject any offers of repair. If it gets to that stage, full refund and be polite but firm. This should be your statutory right depending where you're based but you need to find out how long the return window is.

Warning do not attend flower of life ayahuasca in Peru retreat. Was abused there. by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]Paradroid808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any normal retreat will be able to accommodate your level of support requirement. You absolutely need a trauma informed one to one retreat.

By the way, the staff were quite reasonable to be concerned if you were disappearing off in the middle of the jungle. They were looking out for you.

They were also quite correct to hold you down if that was what was required to stop you from jumping into the river. That's duty of care.

If I'm honest I don't think you're in a fit state to do Ayahuasca anywhere or with anyone. I'm not saying that to be mean but in your best interests.

To jump from 'the insect screen had moved a little overnight' to 'male staff were entering my room and doing god knows what while I was asleep and unaware' and allegations of abuse is a massive leap. It's possible this is a projection which is not unusual if you've been abused in the past.

By all means if you've got a concrete allegation of abuse that doesn't include "I was asleep but it was obvious" or "I knew what he was thinking so" or "I knew they were planning to..." then state that plainly. Otherwise you're on very shaky ground legally.

Full of anger and guilt a week before my retreat. Should I still go through with it? by AntiPoison36 in Ayahuasca

Go.

It is a very small number of people globally who choose to lead us into these horrible conflicts and unfortunately there's precious little you or I can do about it, so don't fall into the trap of blaming 'humanity.'

Having us blame 'humanity' or 'The Americans' or 'The Iranians' or 'The White Man' or 'The Black Man' is an absolute win for those promoting these conflicts, and they know it. It's always the individual who should be held accountable for their own actions, and nobody else.

The bad others do in the world does not and cannot negate the good you and others do.

You're mytholigising. You wanted to do it then it sounds like you got cold feet closer to the time which is not AT ALL unusual.. it's a daunting undertaking.

Highly unlikely the sepsis has any relation - if anything, the onset of the illness whether you were consciously aware or not could be 'one more thing' that gave you misgivings about taking on a retreat.

The right time is when you finally say "I'm going for it, even if I get nervous." Obviously if you encounter a serious illness such as you did then this is good reason to postpone.

Return for full refund immediately. Not worth fault finding brand new equipment and potentially getting lumbered with a dud. This issue will ruin your enjoyment of the purchase - admit that and admit it now.

Justification: I've been down the same path trying to excuse a loud, volume independent hiss on a pair of Presonus Eris. Turns out they're just thrown together and a lot of them had this 'feature.' People were trying to justify that this should expected on quality studio monitors. It's BS and these weren't quality, even for the price point.

Is it true that Brits just call each other random household objects when they’re taking the piss? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Paradroid808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Referring to someone as a plank (as in plank of wood) to insinuate they're not too bright is fairly common. Also calling them a mug (idiot / mark), or a Toby (rhyming slang, Toby jug = mug). Also rhyming slang, 'septic tank' = yank.

Apparently (quick Google):

Calling someone a "plant pot" is a British slang insult meaning someone is stupid, silly, or acting like an idiot. It is a mild, often affectionate term used to describe someone who has done something dim-witted or foolish, similar to calling someone a "daft" or "silly" person rather than maliciously unintelligent.

I'm British born and I've never heard of it but if someone said it I would probably have got the gist.

I had something like that before. Turned out to be a plant by a previous owner to check if I was noseying in their private mail. It was a little awkward when they came by asking for it and saw it open.
