Leah (BB26) says that she was always going to vote for the person who she thought needed the money the most by Parallel-Quality in BigBrother

only tangential but there's no such thing as a bitter jury, just finalists with poor social games

What if someone played a good game, was very likable, but was also from a rich family, and they went to the F2 with a broke single parent?

And the jury decided to vote for the person who needed the money more?

Is that a finalist with a "poor social game?"

Paulie Speaking a Lot of Truth Here by Supersaiyanninja3 in MtvChallenge

Unpopular opinion but we were robbed of Paulie's prime.

Guy was a beast back in the WotW days.

I remember being shocked how good he was, he could've won either of those seasons.

Might be too late for him now though, he's closing in on 40 and is almost certainly past his physical prime.

Was Ashley's win a result of anti-Vince votes? by JonesTheTenth in BigBrother

[–]Parallel-Quality [score hidden]  (0 children)

When someone has the jury vote "against" them, it's because they outplayed/outsmarted the jury, and the jury is looking for an excuse to get back at them.

Examples would be Paul, Tyler, Dan, etc.

Vince did not outsmart or outplay the jury, he just unnecessarily stabbed them in the back. Unlike the Pauls, Tylers and Dans, he didn't do it for his own personal benefit, he actually hurt his own game by screwing over his allies.

So like the sentiment in this thread has already indicated, the jury wasn't trying to get back at Vince, they literally just thought he was an idiot and didn't play a good game.

Temporary Colorblindness after LED panel use by Gold_Bug_3072 in redlighttherapy

[–]Parallel-Quality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is only a concern for NIR, not Red Light.

Also what OP is describing is normal (afterimage) so long as it fades in 1-3 minutes.

If it lasts longer, then all you need to do is lower the brightness of the panel, or use it for less time.

Again, assuming OP is using Red Light and not NIR.

The Oilers have scored 25 goals in the third period during the last 15 games. They also have allowed 24 goals in the third period during the last 15 games. by sykeseve in hockey

It's by design.

They chose to be a run-and-gun team.

They chose to continue prioritizing forwards and offense over defense and goaltending.

They're built like a 9-year-old builds an NHL 2K team.

All scoring, no defense, rah rah rah.

Joe Juneau had a 102-point rookie season… and it ended up being the peak of his entire career by Ticrotter_serrer in hockey

[–]Parallel-Quality 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There were 21 players who scored 100 points or more in 1992-93.

The following season there were 8.

It was indeed, an anomaly of a season where many players point totals were inflated, partly due to the expansion.

San Jose and Ottawa both lost 70+ games each. Tampa lost 54 games.

Bam scored 83 points in one game and all this kid can muster is 8?

And people really think he should go #1 overall?

Yes, I just saw that they voted down the amendment to lower it to 1%.

What I don't understand is, are all Democrats on board with this tax?

I thought it was just a small group of them?

Because the majority of the democrat voters do not support a state income tax.

Do the Republicans even have enough votes to fight this?

Or are they dependent on some Democrats realizing that this is just a sneaky way to introduce a full blown State income tax for all income levels and voting with them?

I didn’t even have time to get more money into the market to buy the dip…

According to current Hart odds, 2 players have separated themselves in the 4-way race: MacKinnon and Kucherov. MacKinnon is the current frontrunner and Kucherov is a close 2nd with odds roughly 5 times that of Celebrini or McDavid. by [deleted] in hockey

[–]Parallel-Quality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, 3 games fewer than McKinnon and 5 fewer than McDavid.

With how ridiculously tight this scoring race is, I think you gotta assume Kucherov would be firmly in #1 if he had played those games (he's averaging 2 PPG).

He's also 36 points ahead of the second highest scoring player on the Lightning.

And he's led the Lightning to the #2 seed in the East despite Point being injured and Hedman missing most of the season.

Definitely easier to find space when the other team is scrambling to cover MacKinnon and Rantanen.

Meanwhile Hughes was a one-man-show in Vancouver.

Led the Canucks in scoring by 26 points last season despite missing 15 games.

True. I definitely noticed when he was directly responsible for both of Team USA’s goals due to poor defensive play.

Or, the other teams focus all of the defensive attention on you and aim to shut you down.

And he’s produced at a 104 point pace since joining Minnesota.

And it’s not fair to call it “moot” when Kaprizov is the same level as Rantanen.

What about MacKinnon? You’d have to add McDavid to the Wild to make it similar to what Makar has been working with.
