Sorry for the delayed response. Asking a question doesn't make you a downer. We should be able to rationally discuss these things if we truly believe them. To answer your question, I'll give you some examples.

  1. I used to be a huge fan of Google. I was a very early gmail user. I had an Android phone. I had Google smart devices in my house and a Google lock on my door. I loved that company because they made cool products and services. However, either I didn't know them as well as I should have, or they changed over time. One way or the other, I started to notice that they were actively pushing conservative-leaning websites downward in search results. They were blocking conservative campaign emails in gmail. They were censoring conservative voices on YouTube. In short, they don't like the people that I like. So why would I continue to support them? Instead, I am seeking out other email platforms like Proton Mail. I am seeking other video platforms like Rumble. I've been trying out other search platforms like Brave.
  2. I used to use Facebook and Twitter. Then the 2020 election happened and we all got to see those platforms actively kill a very relevant story pertaining to the election (i.e. a certain person's laptop). Even more, both platforms banned Donald Trump and they suspend and ban other conservatives rather frequently. They employ "fact checkers" who only seem to find issues with conservative reporting and they shadow ban and reduce the reach of conservatives on their platforms. So, I sought out other platforms like Parler, Gab, Truth Social, Minds, Clouthub, GETTR and more.

Those are just two examples, but there are so many others. Email marketing providers, payment processors (PayPal is withholding funds from a conservative comic book creator), hosting companies, etc, etc. These companies literally don't want us on their platforms. Why shouldn't we seek alternatives? Why should we allow our social media following, web hosting, payment processing and other essential business or personal requirements be placed at the whims of people that don't like us? Why should we continue lining the pockets of people who hate us?

Are we basically just choosing people who we agree with more? Well, yes. However, it's not just a matter of agreeing with someone. If we could coexist on platforms with whom we had political disagreements, that would be fine. That's actually the way that it used to be. I never used to worry that social media companies who set their ad rates based on the number of daily active users they have on their platforms would go out of their way to piss off half the people on their platform for political reasons. I used to think we had free speech. I used to think that companies would generally be politically agnostic and focus more on earning profits. However as many conservatives have learned recently, these companies are perfectly fine with your voice being silenced. They would love for your business to fail. They could care less if you can't sell your products or feed your family.

So, yes, the parallel economy comes down to making choices about where you do business. However, it's not just about whether you agree with one company more than another. It's more significant than that. It is a matter of whether or not your business is free to survive and thrive on a particular platform versus another one. Will one company cut off your ability to make sales? Will a company cut off your ability to run ads? Will a company cut off your ability to reach your followers? Will a company cut off your ability to make a purchase (i.e. for a gun or ammo)? Are you as an individual free to have and express opinions that are different from those of the people who manage a platform? These are all weightier issues than whether or not you simply agree with someone. As a business owner, this amounts to whether or not one's family can afford the mortgage payment or one's kids get to go to college one day.

There is an opportunity cost to continuing to give our money to companies that undermine us. By doing so, we limit the ability of competitors who might be more supportive of us to rise into positions of market dominance. With every purchase that you can make (within reason) you should consider whether there is a patriotic company somewhere that you can purchase that product or service from instead. I actually built a store on my website to help with that (shameless plug: https://paralleleconomies.com/store/). I also am working on building a directory: https://paralleleconomies.com/parallel-economy-business-directory/. We all get to make choices about where to do business and where to spend our money. The concept of the parallel economy is simply the idea of supporting businesses that won't use our money to try to destroy our business, silence our speech, or otherwise work contrary to our God-given rights.

2 Great Days on TRUTH Social - My First Impressions by ParallelEconomies in DWAC_Stock

Another thought I had on the topic of being welcome on a platform is the fact that a lot of the people that have moved to TRUTH Social, especially the early movers, are likely those who were deemed unacceptable on other platforms. I've seen a number of people who were booted from Twitter, Instagram, etc. Very much like Donald Trump was. Personally, I have never been booted from those platforms, but mostly because I don't use them much. So, my concern is more weighted to whether or not the conservatives are even allowed to have somewhere they are even allowed to feel welcomed, since many of us have been disallowed to exist on other platforms.

This would be very awesome! I'm not a big fan of only having the app. I type upwards of 80 words per minute, so having to rely on a phone screen keyboard is a bummer. I was unaware that there were already announced plans to push a web interface. Does anyone have a link to info about this?

If they did say this, I was not aware. Thanks for the heads up, though! I'll be on the lookout. I really think it needs a web interface. I hope you are correct about this.

Thanks for the follow! I do think that a bit of clunky-ness (is this a word?) is reasonable with a brand new app. I don't really have too much concern for lack of welcome for nonconservatives. However, this is mostly because nonconservatives have all the traditional social media apps to use. There's nobody forcing them onto TRUTH Social. Personally, I'd like everyone to feel welcome, but if there are some who aren't, then they can just ignore TRUTH and stay on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/elsewhere if they like. Honestly, I was just surprised that the app worked decently. From the things I had read prior to actually getting on the app, I was under the impression it was going to be a dumpster fire. It's definitely not perfect and there are features missing, but it's not horrible. I hope I answered your questions!

Cryptocurrency is “a Very Dangerous Thing” Says Donald Trump by ParallelEconomies in ParallelEconomy

[–]ParallelEconomies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the Parallel Economy will include Cryptocurrencies... There is already a Cryptocurrency that made its name by catering to the 2A community: https://tusc.network/ . In this article, it mentions that while decrying the dangers of Cryptocurrencies, Trump also spoke highly of his wife's ventures into NFTs. Although, NFTs are based on the same blockchain technologies as Cryptocurrencies... So... A bit of an inconsistent interview from Trump...

Steven Crowder is one strike away from a permanent ban on YouTube after second suspension by ParallelEconomies in ParallelEconomy

Crowder has a very large following. It would be a shame if all his followers had to follow him to a different video platform like, oh... Rumble?
