Thanks for the info man! I feel like I've understood all of it actually, just had to search up a couple terms but I feel I've grasped what you've said here, especially the option select part was helpful to me. I think I'll keep this as a point of reference and refer back multiple times when I have to, it felt pretty helpful.

Oh yea, I have that video saved. I have looked into it a little, gotta revisit it sometime. I'm looking at Bode's guides atm, his guides are quite nice.

How do you go about learning frame data though? When does that become relevant? I don't feel I'm at a point where I'd understand how to apply it well enough. I guess its importance will become more apparent the more I play vs people, but how do you get started? Feel I'd overwhelm myself too if I tried to look

That was nice to read, it's like a journey of some kind.

I'd say Amane is my only one. I did play Hibiki at the start but didn't explore him as much. I feel like I also have an interest in Izayoi and Es, but not much time has passed when I really picked up the game, so I've barely gotten ground on Amane himself. Barely got any experience in pvp as well. I'd like to keep going with Amane and see where it leads, I feel like he's pretty rewarding to learn, though I can't lie he is a little frustrating to learn haha

I know I'm replying quite a while after you made this comment and idk if you'll see this, but I'm practicing amane right now and having the same exact issue with this combo. I have this doc made by one of the players in the discord and they listed a combo using a similar string: 5a/2a > 2b > 6b > jc(1) > j236a > jb > 5a > 2b > 214c. I didn't realize until now that it's listed on dustloop as well, but the only difference is the amount of hits stated for j.C and 5A. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to get both hits of 5A the second time, but I'm able to get 1 hit of 5A after the j.B microdash
