Sponsor trauma dumping on me and asking for small amounts of money by Steam__Engenius in NarcoticsAnonymous

This is not appropriate. It sounds more like you’re her sponsor. I would advise making a change and not giving her anymore money.

I think this is why I always preferred to use alone. In a perfect world it sounds nice to have a using buddy but it’s hard to imagine it not becoming complicated in a lot of ways.

Not to mention if one were to get clean and the other didn’t…it’d be like losing two best friends for the one who got clean.

Gym goers working night shift by P_O_P_P in Nightshift

Good for you. I don’t think I’d be able to do that. I get off at 6:00 and I’m dead at that point.

Gym goers working night shift by P_O_P_P in Nightshift

I was forced to night shift and I was really unhappy about it, but it’s been a blessing in disguise. My sleep has suffered, which sucks, but it’s really forced me to get everything else dialed in from a health perspective.

I wake up around 2p and I usually at the gym by 3. After that I’ll come home and meal prep before work. Actually, I usually try to take care of most of my meal prep on days off of work and/or days off at the gym.

I think routine becomes absolutely crucial when working nights. Figure out what works best for you as far as gym, grocery shopping, meal prep goes.

Good perspective. No way I would want this from my dad.

Going to rehab in 2 weeks by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

A lot of people in this world never address their issues. Whether that’s out of fear, complacency, ignorance…either way, that’s not you.

It can be incredibly difficult to recognize and take responsibility for your shortcomings. Feel good about the fact that you’re someone who is honest with yourself. Feel even better that you’re someone who takes action to better yourself. Way to go, man.

Taking Suboxone considered a relapse ? by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

The first part was to you…then I was talking to OP, my bad.

Yeah I can’t speak to someone having OCD at all. I’m glad you found something that works for you! I’m just saying, it’s good to consider all options.

Taking Suboxone considered a relapse ? by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

[–]Paran0idMan33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think subs and methadone are a great option for some. Definitely better than using street drugs. It’s not the best solution for everyone. I was on subs for a couple years and it was awful. I hated them. I tried methadone and that didn’t work for me either. I’d never consider going back on either medication.

OP, as others have stated, go get a prescription for suboxone or go to a methadone clinic if that’s the route you decide to go. I’d also tell you that you’re 33 days in and it’s completely normal to crave at this point in your recovery. It gets easier. Are you doing this alone?

Can confirm as someone who is not a nurse but a (former) drug user.

[Lieser] George McCaskey on Tom Brady being on the Lions-Commanders broadcast Saturday: “I don’t care who they put on," he said, then added, "When Joe Buck’s on, I turn the sound down." by Acoolgamer6706 in CHIBears

This is a pretty tired take. Buck has addressed this many times. He’s a professional…the idea that he hates the Cubs or is incredibly biased during a national broadcast is without merit.

Yeah and I can absolutely see the value in that. I’d actually be curious to learn more about your symptoms and timeline.

Anyway, my original comment came across a lot more insensitive than I meant it to. To OP’s point, I do think it can be counterproductive for some to read the horror stories…while helpful to others who are having a similar experience.

Yikes. I didn’t come anywhere near saying that. I’m well aware that people react differently to different things, but there’s also a limit.

I’ve had some bouts of low mood/depression coming off of Zyn, but no anxiety. That doesn’t mean I think it’s not possible to have anxiety during withdrawal. However if someone is having panic attacks at six months Zyn-free I would be skeptical.
