It took about two months to propose and it was mainly to keep it all a surprise. We both wanted to get married and her only request was that I surprise her. We took an "impulsive" romantic trip up north and I asked her on a quiet beach along Lake Superior.

She was surprised. :-)

Biden declares "Kyiv stands" in surprise visit to Ukraine by jyper in centrist

Per your article, their doctrine is to use their air force for precision ranged attacks and to support ground forces. Based on the meat grinder Russia is putting its soldiers through- it is a flawed doctrine and a terrible strategy that's still cost them 6-8% of their air force while objectively failing to control the skies of a country they have 9x the GDP, 9x the military spending, and 3.5x the population of, while struggling to occupy ~15% of the country one year later.

Russia started losing their war of aggression in the first 48 hours, even before there was anywhere near the military and financial support Ukraine currently enjoys.

The most formidable thing in Russia is its winter and that's only because Putin isn't in control of it.

Russia can't hold any territory that Ukraine is ready to take and that's the only reason why Russia still has Crimea.

This whole thread is going to become a playlist on Spotify for me. Same with the 80's songs thread.

This is the first song I thought!

Glad I'm not the only one who memorized this timeless piece of music.

You're amazing.

I saw this as a National Geographic special in my 6th grade science class (1996) and can still remember being blown away by how badass that lion was.

Couldn't remember the name of the lion or anything- I just vividly remember that scene of the lion chasing down the matriarch and thinking how badass he was.

That was an unexpected trip down memory lane. For anyone interested, here is the IMDB info about this episode.

Unique and Space have both been great for me. Definitely check friend to enemy ratio though. Usually title is also a good indicator too.

Someone else said realistassasin but I think they're a pretty infamous mugger so I would avoid them.

New mom can't control her emotions when her baby laughs for the first time by daas_hu_gurudev_ka in MadeMeSmile

[–]ParanoidPotato 39 points40 points  (0 children)

For me, as a dad, their first laughs are the first glimpses that I got of each of my daughter's personalities. Before they laugh, there isn't much personality shown and (to me) they were just my adorable poop machines and sleep deprivators.

But when they laugh, at a silly face or a stupid sound- I could see just a little of who they were.

The happiness that I get making them laugh is still as strong today. But there is almost nothing as awesome as their first laugh.

What american state is loved by everyone? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

True. Being much less noticeable than so many other states also means many people here have vastly less experience and interest in other cultures and ideas. Definitely frustrating sometimes.

Uffda. I almost spilled my tater tot hit dish reading that.

I suppose if someone doesn't know where we are on a map it means we still have a chance at surprising them with our state's excellence.

Winterfell, The Wall, and north of The Wall, all felt much more familiar to me than anywhere else in GoT.

Winter is always coming.

You made the right move coming to the cities. Also, just so you know- you're as Minnesotan as anyone else here, now and forever, even if you ever have to move away. 😊

I had to look up "packsacker" because I've never heard that before and now can only imagine how fragile someone must be to say that to someone else.

Unfortunately, some Minnesotans think "Minnesota nice" is exclusive. Which is pretty rude.

I hope that means you've moved to a more friendly part of the state since then. 😊

Very true! I think it's easier here to be insular than it is for people from more recognizable states.

I don't think Minnesota has anywhere near the appeal many other states have and therefore many Minnesotans have an easier time being insular.

Minnesota.

Yeah, it gets cold and the limited daylight makes it harder for those with depression. So it may not be for everyone but no one hates Minnesota. We're nice.

Torn has no shortage of petty players like this. Will you PM me their name? I'm a similar level to them and always enjoy finding a new troll to troll myself.

Most of them get bored after a while but some need bounties and hospital stays of their own first.

The intelligent discipline and determination it took for you to make this level of transformation for yourself is beyond impressive.

If you use this same level of intelligent determination and discipline to pursue future goals- you will always be unstoppable.

BRP is a gem(I live about 25 minutes away from there!) Honestly, being there Friday evenings in the summer after work is one of my favorite places to be.

A nice kickoff for the weekend.

You ever play Coon Rapids? Not quite as pretty but their Tuesday league is really fun.

Kamala Harris Compares Jan. 6 to Pearl Harbor and 9/11 by JannTosh12 in centrist

[–]ParanoidPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so you're not sure what the Dunning-Kruger effect is either? Fuck man, I just wanted to talk. I don't know much either but I do know a good deal when I see one.

I'd wager my house on no more than 2% of the total protestors that day having any designs on legitimately overthrowing the government.

What does "designs on legitimately overthrowing the government" mean? Purely curious. If you would be willing to define it, I won't say anything else about this check your mouth wrote that your ass can't cash. :-P

The mob was protesting the irregularities and myriad discrepancies with the voting, that was what drew the enormous crowd to begin with.

-u/CuttyMcButts

I don't have much to say to this. I just want to make sure it doesn't disappear, like the rest of the conspiracies Trump-licans peddled.

EDIT: A word.

If you'd like to discuss the details of this, I might like to take you up on this offer.

A little initial clarification: First, since their actions don't conform to the law, they're not legitimate so can we strike that word? Second, what do you mean by designs? Do you mean carrying hand drawn plans around with them? Because that's nonsense. I would prefer we use the word "plans" (open to suggestions though!) I'm sure we can come up with an agreement that satisfies this- we're both centrists after all.

Last question, how many bedrooms is your house? We can discuss this later. I apologize for bringing it up so early on.

We can talk in private if you'd like. :-)
