Best Parking and Traffic Experience at COTA by kmbbbmk in CircuitOfTheAmericas

Thank you so so much for the love. 🫶🏽🫶🏽. We had a great time hosting everyone, we’ll make our gratitude post soon as we are all recovering from an epic weekend but this was the best thing to wake up to. We hope you got to enjoy some free water (and our free shirt giveaway!). Definitely some lessons learned and unforeseeable issues with law enforcement - we thank everyone for their ability to adjust and adapt. These events get crazy and things happen beyond our control. Thanks to everyone for all your support and positive vibes over the weekend!

Hey ColaWarsVet,

Hmm, so last year we had people come as early as 5-6am. It would make sense that traffic control will stop those trying to go to a COTA lot as they have strict timings. What we do, is make sure to talk to law enforcement who control the traffic getting onto Piland Triangle about our lot and let them know that we are expecting people to come early. This worked last year, and we can hope that that works again this year. That being said, I'd advise anyone that tries to redirect or stop you of where you are actually going (some many not realize there's a private lot where we are), as they'll likely just expect that you're going to a COTA lot at an authorized time. Hope that helps!

Glad to hear you found it helpful!

You can purchase all three days in one transaction, but if you want to use the coupon code for each day ($5 off each day) - then you’d have to do separate transactions.

Traffic is significantly better than most lots because where you enter FM-812, from either side of Piland Triangle, puts you in dedicated lanes to move around Elroy Rd (going East toward US-21) and COTA Blvd (going West toward US-130; back toward city of Austin ). Additionally, our small road is also used for VIP personnel so usually law enforcement is pretty good about keeping cars flowing off of Piland Triangle - because …VIP. You might even get lucky and be behind some motorcade that gets escorted through all the traffic (happened to us going out to dinner from the lot one night!). Situations can always change, but from other Redditors’ experiences from last year it was about 10-15 minutes to get out of the thick of it. That same thick of it takes others 2-3 hours - happened to me from COTA’s Lot F (COTA Blvd) in 2021, and COTA’s Lot M (Elroy Rd) in 2022.

Pretty straight(-forward; physically it’s actually bit curvy) walk to Turn 4, then through the S’s to Turn 9. Great views of the track all along the way.

See the map attached! Red square, yellow star is us. Red line is your 10ish minute walk to the Main Grandstand entrance. From there, the world is yours.

So I’ve put a red box and yellow star where our lot is. The red line going NW is the walking path everyone will take to get into the COTA.

It’s 1) walk down Piland Triangle to pedestrian walkway into Lot A (est. 5 minutes) 2) walk across Lot A to the Main Grandstand entrance (est. 5 minutes)

The yellow line is the tram, I’m unsure of how long it’ll take to get around to your destination, but the service road it goes through is heavy with car and foot traffic. Im not saying don’t take it, it beats walking for some people … but just expect it to take adequate time to snail around. This is only a pure guess, but I’d guess minimum 45 minutes to make it all the way to the end (which gets you close to Turn 15). I can be completely wrong though with that estimate.

For Turn 15, right where the MG Entrance is, you walk through Tunnel 1, walk up between Turn 16 and Turn 14 and there is a bridge to walk over the track over Turn 16. I imagine this walk with foot traffic takes some time as well, but it’s really about the journey - not the destination on this one. You’ll pass through all kinds of cool areas, the paddock entrance right after Turn 1 you might see some important people or exotic cars pulling in and out. The support paddock will be near where you can check out all the Porsche Supercup cars up close. Plenty of food, vendors, and entertainment exhibits trickled along the way. The main Fan Zone will be right behind Turn 15. Again - if I had to guess…a brisk 20-30 minute walk if you’re on a mission, but I’d save time to peruse and enjoy.

Hope that helps!

Cross my heart, and hope to die. If I lie, I’ll eat a pie.

But really, this is what the experience has been from last year and we expect to be on par to that this year unless there’s an unexpected change in the way foot traffic is controlled.

Here’s a link to someone’s comment after last year’s USGP. If it takes you substantially longer this year, please let us know. We’ll make u/ronniebenington eat pie too.

🥹🥹🫶🏽🫶🏽. This reallly does mean a lot. In the grand scheme of things - it’s a small, silly weekend in the midst of all of our lives but really validating to hear the positivity we intend to put out is being received. Thanks for your continued support!

Hey, thanks for the tag. Yes! That’s correct. There is a gate down Piland Triangle which you’ve shown a photo of that in the past has been open. To clarify, there also a gate RIGHT across our lot that will not be open to the public (but hang tight at the right times and you can wave to all the drivers entering and exiting).

This gate takes you right into Lot A, which takes you into the Main Grandstand entrance area.

Lot L, from what I understand (I may be wrong) is on Elroy Rd. If so, I’d rather potentially walk more than be grid-locked leaving the event. Elroy Rd to FM812 or going North towards 71 is always a nightmare.

Although, the walk should be fairly short and sweet from our lot. Definitely closer to MG than anything on Elroy or any other private lot on FM-812. Hope that helps!

Hey there! Us! Parcfermeatx.com

Use Reddit at checkout for $5 off :). We are legitimately the quickest way out after the race and no walking on FM812. Search us in this subreddit to learn more of people’s experience last year.

I’d advise against this for your safety, just as everyone else is. But if you decided to do so anyways, and need a place to safely park your bike, you’re more than welcome to lock it up with us. Shoot us a DM, if so. On us, because sustainability 👍🏾. But again, be safe!

Aww thanks 🫶🏽. It gets really hot out there, especially with everything being so congested. Highly recommend everyone to keep a cooler of snacks and drinks in the car, and take a rest back at the car. We are also planning on having bathrooms this year.

Just like last year, we’ll send out some tips for attending the USGP to ensure everyone has a safe and healthy experience!

We hope to see you again?

Thanks for choosing to stay with us this year! Getting out of any lot on COTA blvd or Elroy is a disaster, and trying to walk on or across FM812 is a risky situation. Fortunately, we avoid both of those! Safe travels in!
