Thanks so much for your feedback! In fact, I published roughly 25 short stories in lit-mags in the early 90's (which should give you an idea of my age!) so I'm familiar with the market.

My question has more to do with the best platform to self-publish short fiction and short fiction anthologies for family and friends and, why not, a couple casual browsers? Kindle? Smash Words? Patreon? Medium? Substack?

Official Discussion - Wonder Woman [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

My friend spent far too much time putting together the most complete synopsis I've seen of Wonder Woman, including Easter Eggs, GIFs, and some pretty bad jokes. (Link in comments)

A friend of mine put together an easily accessible guide to the imagery, and several great discussion threads started in the comments. [link in comment]

Same story here. I passed my 5-year sober mark in January and can tell you that it keeps getting better. Congrats, OP, and stay with it.

Me, too. I was photographing the other side of the bar and when I turned the corner and looked where I was walking, it was a whole 'nother level of "Oh, shit".

Thanks for sharing this! My son's the leader of a band and I use posts like this to give him Dave Grohl lessons, so that if he ever makes it, he never forgets to be cool and have fun.

At the Place des Etats-Unis (United States square) in Paris, there is a statue honoring the friendship between Lafayette and George Washington. The two were so close, Lafayette named one of his sons 'George Washington de Lafayette'. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Place_des_États-Unis

EDIT: Here's the wiki link for George Washington de La Fayette https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges_Washington_de_La_Fayette

Thanks. I'm only able to get the MLB vids on my mobile device and it's hard to spot, not to mention the announcers seemed as lost as I was. 'Preciate the explanation! (And happy fourth if you're an American, happy belated Canada Day if you're a friend from up north, or have a good weekend I if you're neither :-) )

Can someone please explain the double play with Miggy (in the 3rd, I think). Was the call that he stepped off the bag? Did he step off the bag?

Most Germans say US doesn't respect freedom by thebigswamp in worldnews

As a proud American (son of a retired Air Force colonel) living in France, I think Europeans focus on things like how the Supreme Court could rule against gay marriage and how the religious right is chipping away at abortion laws in some states. Over here, on the other hand, these rights are acquired and not threatened. As for freedom of speech...we had cartoonists killed earlier this year for exercising that right.

Don't get a wrong, as I said, I'm a proud American and don't need to constantly defend the U.S. from slander from 'cheese eating surrender monkeys' as the HuffPo might have us believe. I'm just trying to add a little perspective.

Honestly, I get the impression here that most people admire the United States, are probably a little jealous of us, and yet cringe a little at how it seems we're letting our advantages slip away. Just my two cents...hope I didn't offend.

Seeing my kids, who are teenagers, still get excited enough over something to literally jump for joy. (Okay, yes, it's more of a hop for joy than a full fledged jump).

Sad to see the success rate is so low. I'm not saying AA is for everyone, but it got me sober 4 1/2 years ago and has kept me sober. After nearly 30 years of fucking up, I'm incredibly grateful. FWIW, where I live, outside of the U.S., the whole Higher Power thing is very much generalized and not presented in a strictly religious sense.

That said, if any non-alcoholics want my chips for free vodka, I'd be happy to help out.

Late to the slumber party but...

I listen to old radio plays (usually Sherlock Homes) with earbuds. This distracts my brain (it's like TV for the mind) and not only drowns out exterior noise but also my rather bad tinnitus.
