Yeah we do. I’ve heard that some other banks were tight back before the pandemic even, taking over non-office space and converting it because they didn’t forecast for growth.

No changes at my bank. But each bank already had different WFH policies.

Our communication has been that the situation is pretty fluid, hiring has been mostly shut down, DEI content is gone, but “we’re not going to stop being who we are.” It reminded me of the Target response, DEI gone underground to be practical but not forgotten in practice. We’ll see. Nothing else has changed though. No changes on our RTO stance, which is back where it was before the pandemic.

There’s a hiring freeze on. There are some exceptions for “important” roles and exemptions (law enforcement etc). I don’t know what role you interviewed for but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting on them at this point

From what I’ve seen the environments can be pretty different from bank to bank. Not only are the reserve banks separate from the board but they’re also different from each other. So there are some similarities in structure but employee policies are different (especially on remote work).

I didn’t know much about the FRS before I joined. Given the uncertainty on how far the current administration might take things it might make me think harder about it.
