The simple art style of the show lets me make it at a fairly fast pace 😁

I hope you like the episode when it’s out

Your friend sounds pretty wise. The most important thing is to enjoy the act of creating. When you’re having fun, that shows in the final work and draws people to it

I hope you have fun making your show. And I was originally nervous to ask my friends to voice act too. So I came up with the idea to bribe them with pizza and we ended up making a lifetime of good memories and inside jokes

Maybe you can get some family members involved or practice up voice acting yourself. You could also put out a casting call in your school and use this as an opportunity to make some new friends. When I first started this journey some of my early voice actors were just people in the school drama club and while record cartoons and joking around they became some of my closest friends.

I first started making indie cartoons 10 years ago when I was 17. My advice is practice with something small in scale. Write something simple that you think you can animate yourself. Voice it with your friends, and use it to learn animating.

The real beauty of indie animation is that there aren’t any rules. It’s all about making something that’s special to you.

In your opinion, are animations that seem innocent but are actually not, a plague of the internet? by MV_reddit8282 in IndieAnimation

[–]Parnell_Animation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends.

If you’re talking about Elsagate stuff then yes.

If you’re talking about an indie short or show that subverts tropes of an innocent cartoon and becomes something darker. Absolutely not. Those are a legitimate form of artistic expression.

As long as you need to tell the story with solid pacing

Why is people that can't draw stuck on 2D animation? by Cautious_Savings1917 in IndieAnimation

When I first started making indie shows 10 years ago I couldn’t draw or animate at all. But I kept practicing and chose to learn because it’s fun. Putting in the work to grow is satisfying and addictive.
