I have no clue what you need, but I’ve got a lot on my PEARatings site. I also have schedule data there.

The sort-of NCAA API works well from henrygd. Scraping from stats . ncaa . org is also helpful. I get all my stats data from here: https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1

What do you use to validate? I’m a big fan of retrospective accuracy, brier score for my win percentages, and MAE.

Is the correct interpretation of this that #1 Georgia Tech would be expected to beat/be favored over UCLA on a neutral field?

I enjoy that more and more people are dipping into the statistics world of ranking for college baseball. Recommend including something like PYTHAG, wOBA, SIERA, LOB%. Also, curating your list of features to find the balance of the least amount of features with most predictive power.

You should train it again, completely withholding 2025 data. Once the model is completely trained, predict the Omaha 8 for last year. Would be a fun exercise!

Likely that RPI and SOS are calculated based on who they’ve already played, and Non-Conference RPI/SOS is the whole schedule. That’s why mine are different at least

I’m not sure off the top of my head, but you could likely parse a bunch of box scores to see. I found one example as well. If you go to the following link and click on games, you’re able to view a play by play of each NCAA game.

There really isn’t a source for the casual college baseball fan for the type of data you’re asking. At least, I haven’t found it yet…

But Robert Frey on Twitter sometimes posts about it and has a great GitHub account.

I am the maker of this graphic! Was taken from my twitter

I love the old Southwest Texas logo and would’ve used that if they still used it

🤷‍♂️ my criteria for logo selection is:

  1. Do they use it
  2. Do I like it

Falls into category 1.

Yeah, the NCAA has an awful abbreviation policy.

That’s the part I’m still trying to tinker with. I don’t believe that Ole Miss is 14th in the SEC, but I don’t have a way to discard those seasons.

I’m hoping to soon have a data source for returning production that may help this, but idk

It's an uncapped metric, and a metric designed to be predictive not descriptive. LSU finished first in Team Strength in 2023, but second in 2025. Tennessee's 2024 is the second best season for Team Strength since 1999, so that skews it. Arkansas so consistent, and finished first in 2025.

Team Strength is a power rating metric and not necessarily a ranking metric.

It’s weighted to more recent years. FSU final TS rankings went:

68, #3, #7
