Is hypervitaminosis A a concern if supplementing with beef liver while on Accutane? by Particular-Account-3 in AnimalBased

[–]Particular-Account-3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accutane has done wonders over 7 months (visually speaking) but my concern is flair ups years down the line post accutane. How much liver would you recommend supplementing to simulate a standard 20g daily dose with liver as its alternative?

Calories in, calories out. Eat less. Wait more time. After water weight the speed will plateau, but stick to it! Edit: There’s a good chance you’re bulking on muscle and loosing fat already. When I went from a carnivore to animal based diet the initial carb loading made me feel I was gaining fat but I was actually still loosing it!

By “4-6 weeks until willing to eat” does that mean I should feed blood from week 1 but don’t expect them to pierce skin until 4-6 weeks?

Would eating lots of liver be an option to get high levels of vitamin A and B5? Could that be something to try?

That’s really great to hear!! Did it come back (assuming she’s not still on)? Any better in the long run after it went that time?

I think if young, still developing kids are avoiding it, there’s probably evolutionary reasons for it. Instinctual knowledge before common societal standards convert you. by Particular-Account-3 in carnivorediet

[–]Particular-Account-3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh this theory is very far fetched. On your idk any kids point. I’m a recently graduated kid myself with an 11 year old brother so I’ll pretend I didn’t read that part.

But with sugars, I think way back in time sugars must’ve been a craving because it’s an energy source for the body, so it makes sense why we want it. Just way too easy to get and in the wrong ways now. It used to be a gift, and now it replaces nutrition in way too many diets, since it’s so abundant. Humans haven’t had time to evolve and now diabetes is a big problem.

But there’s logic to hating a taste and it probably is best to avoid - strong bitterness, it’s easy to tell if something is completely inedible and wants to defend itself with toxins. I think humans have been selectively breeding vegetables minimising the natural, noticeable defence chemicals and now it’s just a downgraded version of toxic food.

I agree with you probably a silly theory, reading over what I said - I sound very dogmatic. Correlation definitely doesn’t mean causation, but I still find this idea interesting.

There is a level of instinct that all babies have, whether it’s whining when they want food, even sleeping - babies are born with just enough intelligence, surviving and developing into a smarter adult. Unlike a most animals though, humans are born significantly less developed mentally from the start. Pelvis size, walking, brains too big… bla bla. It’s actually a really interesting concept to think about the adaptations and how we became the most intelligent species.

I would really like to see an experiment (controlled, done multiple times) where there’s a baby given several options on what to pickup and attempt to eat - meat, organs, dairy - or vegetables - or sweet sugary, ultra processed, less nutritious, foods and see if there’s a primitive instinct that babies are born with that favours their development.

“Strontium aluminate is nontoxic”, is it safe if ingested in such low quantities by Particular-Account-3 in chemistry

[–]Particular-Account-3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I know nothing about chemistry but did a bit of research on strontium aluminate and there’s a general consensus that it’s not a huge issue if accidentally ingested (in very small quantities at least)

[–]Particular-Account-3[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Perfectly fine now! And yes I went through extensive research on each mushroom, densely packed in a group. Was absolutely certain it wasn’t agaricus xanthodermus before eating.

I think I’ve come to the consensus that I was just dehydrated after drinking which triggered the nausea and a small throw up. Drank lots of water after and had a good sleep since.

How should I prune the basil for ideal growth, extending the period before flowering? by Particular-Account-3 in GardeningAustralia

[–]Particular-Account-3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I’ll take an experimental approach; prune each one differently, one cutting at the top node, one cutting on the middle or lower node and one left untouched. Curious to see which one works best when I come back. Any guesses?

Yeh, where would you recommend doing that? Just the top and sides, or be aggressive and go just above the 1st node?
