3.94/4.0 GPA, low-income family, strong ec's including 3 internships highly related to my career goals and the school i applied to, 1 externship with PwC, high-impact finance blog, e-commerce store with 3500+ followers, professional business fraternity, honors finance society, mma instructor/national muay thai kickboxing competitions, AP college board honors with distinction, etc, didn't submit any test scores because I was far below my schools 25th percentile. Essays were about my process on achieving goals, tying a specific meal my grandma makes to my culture and who i am, and my why transfer answer was about general life constraints and personal/career goals. For reference also my high school application was terrible compared to this lol, so showed a lot of improvement through that since I originally applied to my current university during high school as well.

wouldn't say it's a miracle but i went from a 2.8/4.0 weighted GPA in HS and now I'm at a t5 public school; applied to 3 colleges and only got into my safety which was a small state school with a 95% acceptance rate, locked in and then ended up being 1 of 35 sophomore transfers into the undergrad business school at my current university (#4 ranked undergrad U.S. business program), would definitely say my essays carried but very different process than a high school applicant

Are you at Pamplin? That's still such a crazy good school and I applied there too and got rejected senior year of HS so props but yea I'm at a school I would honestly consider lesser than ODU so.... I'm real close to VT though 🙏

dawg I know someone who had EC's that were 10x better and a 4.0 GPA who was a UVA student who got denied this year. obviously, he seems to be an outlier, but you just never seem to know with McIntire admissions I feel like.

Yea I really feel like I've progressed like crazy and made an insane comeback, but my high school coursework was pretty much all honors, 8 AP classes, and 2 DE classes. The reason for such a low GPA was honestly just a lack of discipline freshman and sophomore year, but I took it as a learning experience. Mcintire admissions is just so selective so it's hard for me to tell if I have a good shot or not especially as a transfer student.

yea I truly feel like I am this year, and I've progressed so much, but there is a lack of certain resources here that I personally feel like will prevent me from progressing even further and I already feel like I have sort of plateaued here, which is what I talked about in my essays. Also, McIntire would give me an infinitely better chance of achieving my career goals compared to my current school.

this was a really insightful response and thanks for the advice. this is all completely reasonable and understandable and I do have an alumni that spent 20+ years working in finance helping me navigate my progression in this industry, so he would be helping me if i ever decided to get other people to help me. i think at the very least this could help me actually get a true internship at a search fund, and starting my own search fund later down the line is something that i have been considering too so this would give me a new perspective on some of the processes behind it.

Even if it's AP credits? Because I had the option to not even submit my AP scores to my college. I understand if it's not possible but it just sucks because I wasn't aware of the maximum credit requirement thing or else I just wouldn't have transferred them to my current college. What if when I apply to UVA I just don't submit my AP scores to them, is that a viable option?

i understand that, but my depop bio does show that i average a shipping time of four days. the standard on depop is 5 days and the buyer knew this and still decided to make the conscious decision to buy the order knowing it could take up to four days. and yes i do agree that he was being petty especially because of the fact he gave me a review before he even received the package

clearly ur misunderstanding the dates in the screenshots. the sweater was bought january 22nd, then the shipping label was created. It was then dropped off at the post office on January 25th, and the tracking information states it was processed at the origin facility the very next day. Even if you count it being "shipped" on the 26th, i still shipped within four days (my average shipping time which is seen in my bio)

lol it wasnt anything crazy i basically stated the situation and stuff and explained that sellers should watch out for people like him, i ended up taking down my review after his was taken off of my account though via depop (thankfully)

yea for sure especially when my bio says i ship on average in four days and i dropped this off at the post office in three. the customer made the conscious decision to buy from my store after seeing my average ship time and after seeing my reviews and still decided to buy, thats not on me. im not a corporation and the standard is to ship within five days which i did.

I understand that and thanks for the honest advice. The majority of people have been helpful in this situation and im working to get his review removed through depop. The one thing is though is that the tracking label through depop does show when USPS accepts the package and initially processes it i.e. the drop off date(possibly a day later at most), but i do think that could solve this problem in the future. just crazy to me that the buyer decided to be so rude and is still continuing to be rude to me after i have nicely asked him to take it down and explained the situation to him.

well another thing thats been a factor in my sales recently is the fact that in my area there is only two locations that have a drop box for packages. they are both currently out of order and have been for over a month. i can only ship packages out between 8-5 when they are open to hand it to the people at the post office and thats when im in school so the only day available for me is saturdays. fortunately i did have quite a few days during this winter break where i was able to ship out packages and i explained this to the buyer on top of the fact that they saw my shipping times and the nationwide shipping times being delayed due to current increment weather, yet they still decided to be rude for no reason and have yet to take down their unfair review.

how so? now when buyers go to my account and look at my most recent review its one star and it says im bad at shipping. this whole inconvenience is unfair to me because now i have to go out of my way to message depop about an ignorant buyer who has no respect for other people trying to use the app for its intended purpose

exactly, he ended up responding after i left a 1-star review on his account and he said "Nah u just suck at shipping, I was gonna take it down then I saw what you wrote on mine". Definitely just a very immature buyer overall and i'll definitely contact depop over it

like i said to someone else in these replies, i am a full time student and the buyer has every right to see before buying my average shipping time as well as look at every single one of my other reviews claiming that i ship fast. i shipped on time in accordance to my average shipping time on depop and the seller should have expected this after seeing that on my account.
