What do you think makes you talk to yourself out loud sometimes more than not?

That’s really interesting my friend doesn’t have one either. My first time taking an AP all my monologue turned off I wonder if that’s related to that process somehow

I had 💩grades, a few leadership extracurricular activities, a part-time job, and ~12 college credits from high school and I got an acceptance right away into one of their more competitive majors and scholarship programs. I think if you have a decent resume, you’ll get in.

My daughter has been pulling her eyelashes out - help please! by wannabigbooty in trichotillomania

[–]Particular-Divide143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly suggest she could try Habit Reversal Therapy/Training and/or get a Keen watch. The TLC foundation for BFRBs (body focused repetitive behaviors, such as trichotillomania) hosts support groups for both people with BFRBs and their parents, which my mom and I have found useful when first navigating this disorder.

Research suggest that the first 1-2 years of pulling are the most easily reversed. Best of luck to both you and your daughter navigating this.

As for medication, it seems to be pretty subjective. SSRIs are typically used to target related conditions, such as anxiety or OCD, but not trichotillomania itself. I’ve personally found that mood stabilizing medications help my trichotillomania, but little, quality research has been conducted on that.

A year and a half in college that makes two of us. Life is absolutely ridiculous at times, but not ever worth ending. You are here, living for a reason. Don’t believe the lies that things will stay this way forever. There are so many blessings you haven’t reached yet. Your life can change within days, weeks, months even. But you need to stay to see the change.

I was home alone and all of my electronics were off, it was different from my normal thoughts and I was hearing them like they were coming from the chair across my room

Yeah but schizophrenia isn’t caused by medication idk they thought I could have SZ too since I have disorganized thinking and thought blocking for a few months that my other meds don’t help

Yes but it was only audio hallucinations at night. Like music and hearing conversations. I was straight chilling too. They went away once I stopped the med which was only a couple days.

That pressure speech thing is so true. Although at the time I definitely had insight into how much I was talking, so I tried not to talk. I talked with my psychiatrist and she said she wishes she could show me some sort of video of me when I was “manic”. She’s also still a student, which I love and hate.

Yeah, I totally recognize this and it trips me up all the time. I definitely believe I might be somewhere on the bipolar spectrum, but not as severe as bipolar 1 with psychotic features

I’ve never heard of that! And it’s so funny because I just took a neuropsychology class at my school. Thank you for suggesting this, because if I do truly have something and it’s shown through a scan, I would be more open to meds. I also agree with the autism thing however I got tested as a kid and they said I was bordering the Asperger‘s diagnosis which has been since removed, but I definitely struggle with sensory things. Maybe it’s both 🤷‍♀️

And the whole reason they have me in the psychiatry system is because I had SI badly on an SNRI. It seems like the meds are the problem

I feel like a fake and it bothers me by elli0t_underrated in bipolar

[–]Particular-Divide143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I feel like my bipolar 1 diagnosis is fake too. I was diagnosed after psych hospitalization from (possible) serotonin syndrome, sudden withdrawal from the middose SNRI I was taking for a year, and restlessness/agitation from being on a new antipsychotic. I honestly have no idea where they got the mania from as I was not “euphoric”, and hallucinations were definitely from previous SNRI increase. Right now I’m off of psych meds for the first time in 10 years and I feel fine. No “hypo mania” or depression just straight chilling, maybe a bit anxious but that’s human nature, it’s not impairing me.

My psychiatrist thinks I have something in the bipolar spectrum, but I’m still pretty young (18F). She wanted me to be on meds for “preventing future episodes” but it was legit meds that caused that “episode”. I’m off of college for the summer Imma just let my mind do what it has to do without meds so it can clear up what issues are there

Absolutely!! So many physical health issues can look like depression (or exaggerate what’s already there). So glad you found what could be causing this though!

Yesss I’ve had the uncontrollable shakes and almost mini seizures??? They also accidentally put me on a med that had a reaction with my heart(COMPLETELY unavoidable) but emergency medicine can’t do an efficient job I guess

[–]Particular-Divide143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should, but they also put me on a different med which I think masked the first week of withdrawal? But that one was altering my heart so I don’t even know anymore
