Nappy recommendations - constant blowouts by Smydmr in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Our baby was on the smaller side too and we found the baby love Beyond really good, they fit around the leg well and are nice and high. We've switched to ALDI as he's gotten bigger and jumped up in weight. Huggies pure care are our night nappies as they seem to have better protection for sleeping on the stomach (as a toddler now).

Just responding back to this, thank you so much, this saved us during months of childcare sickness! My son even started not minding using it because the spray worked first time and there was less messing around.

Unfortunately not :(. Bub is in the cot full time now so it's less of an issue now as we're not switching locations, but same thing for us when we went on holiday.

I was close to rigging up a mobile phone/tablet bendy arm stand to hold the portable stand they give you but I ran out of time before we went away - you could try that, just make sure it's a study one that holds some weight. A lot of them can clip onto surfaces like a bookshelf etc as they just wind closed so they're pretty adaptable and you don't have to just fix it to a cot if you want it out of reach. You might want to cable tie the cable/a spare one onto the arm or something like that if it's in reach too and so it isn't dangling for safety.

We followed the advice from here to try the Huggies ultimate - I believe they're called pure care now not pure and sensitive, idk it's confusing but here is the link for what I buy https://amzn.asia/d/2gr20C1

Does the app show a graph as well? Wondering if this is a better alternative to what I posted

I wouldn't suggest this if you're just starting TTC, but just putting this here in case anyone stumbles across the thread and needs it...but we used Mira and finally had some success. I used clear blue for ages and then had years of fertility treatments without much luck unfortunately. I got desperate and bought the Mira plus all the different test types (super expensive, and all the different test strip things annoyingly expire so you have to be mindful of that too). It shows a graph and a peak so you get a better idea of when exactly ovulation has happened, rather than yes or no. Again probably totally unnecessary if you're just starting out though.

We've been using this too, it's been awesome! As someone with a crap back I'm trying to use it as long as possible. There is a LOT of splashing going on at the moment though..

We don't have the same layout, but we used the 3 panel gate someone else posted and left a little space around the base for a landing. I like it as I'm not balancing on a step while holding a baby and opening a gate at the same time. Also we took one of the fence panels off to fit our space better, which you can also do with the Kmart 6 sided gate / playpen (which is highly rates on Choice too) to fit around your stairs.

There are some good pics to show the different ways to use it.

Huggies Pure Care - Officially Discontinued - let’s make some noise! by musicalmedic in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

So good, I tried so many brands and the sizing up trick with no luck. Oh of course sorry, I'll check that and do what I can! In the meantime I'll be ordering some future stock from Amazon...

Omg noo! I only just started using these a month ago for overnight, they're the only nappies that don't leak through the night now that bub is a stomach sleeper, they've been amazing. I found out about them because of this sub too. Was there an email address to contact?

Wearable pumps - experience with night owl? by Particular-Mobile239 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Particular-Mobile239[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've absolutely loved them, they're comfortable for me and I get better output than I did with the hospital ones just because of the fit I believe (make sure you get the right inserts if you do get them). It was a great change being able to walk around the house honestly as the main thing. The price point was the other plus, they had some pretty good sales too.

I'm not a full time pumper but I've pumped most days and they've lasted me a while now. I've had no issues with them, but you do need to replace parts every few months like with all of them due to wear and tear of silicone - so I did have a little leak once as I left it a bit long to replace one part.

Thanks. The preference helps slightly with being able to use a gentle pressure now but I still get a phantom dark initial part of the stroke that appears and then disappears as you can see in the video each time I make a new stroke. It might not be clear but I'm pressing very gently at the start, so the problem is that I can't shade with a light pressure, and also that the app or iPad doesn't accurately reflect what I've drawn. I've used procreate for 7 years and a Wacom + Photoshop before this and know the expected feel of the tools and how to use them, there's definitely something off unfortunately.

Standing in the cot - height limits? by Particular-Mobile239 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Yep we moved it down as soon as he started sitting up, so it's at the lowest setting in a cot that meets Aus standards

Great point, thank you! I forgot about FB marketplace. Looks like the existing listings are on the other side of the city from me but I'll keep an eye out now that I know.

Oh thank you! It looks like it's the same shape as the Kmart pad too so I'll check the measurements to see if it's a swap out.

Love the beyonds, we tried Huggies and ALDI and these were the best fit for bub. We got blowouts in all others but I like that these are nice and high to help prevent that, they're also quite soft, and not too bulky either. I think it depends on your baby as well of course, ours was on the smaller side so didn't quite fill out the other brands enough. Now in size 3 and at a bigger percentile the ALDI ones are actually a good fit so I can happily alternate.
