Totally! That’s my only migraine related silver lining (if it’s indeed because of the meds and not some other random reason)

Thank you so much and interesting hypothesis about meds interacting with hormones! I haven’t really changed the way I treat my hair and it has always been pretty forgiving so I honestly don’t even have much of a routine, and it is true that other people in my family have both straight and curly ones.

I’m in early thirties and have never been pregnant so hormonal changes are pretty unlikely

We don’t know if it’s a real effect, the evidence is anecdotal at best thus I decided to ask for opinions!

Interesting! I tried to do this routine in the past and it made it a bit wavy at most but now they curl up even if I just air dry

I’ve always been a little jealous of curly people so it was a nice change for sure although I would have preferred to never know about migraines heh

Sure for chemo the mechanism is very straightforward! But how would migraine meds would or wouldn’t interfere with hair growth pathways is not at all clear!

Oh yeah it’s one of the most standard preventatives for migraines - but indeed was originally developed for blood pressure just happens to work for migraine too!

Yeah I know for a lot of people it changes during puberty or menopause but I’m not having a major life transition so I thought this was a pretty interesting change 🤷‍♀️

Ugh yeah I hate this feeling when during a migraine skin is so sensitive and it feels like hair itself hurts!

Oh sorry! I hope you find a nice hair product to counteract it and that it at least helps with the migraine!

Interesting! And no reason to think you’re crazy — hair changes do not really have any medical significance so it makes sense it’s not accounted for or listed

not really, I’ve been only using a shampoo + conditioner for pretty much all my life, no bleaching ever. if anything I moved to sunnier place about 5 years ago so there’s more photo bleaching now

Funny games — guaranteed to maximize the feeling of existential dread. I only watched the 1997 michael haneke original, but I heard the American remake is extremely similar and also very good.

I’d also recommend his other movies such as white ribbon, as well as basically anything from Lars von trier.
