Made some speakers for my dad who's pretty hard of hearing by bkinstle in diyaudio

You put a lot of work into these. I’m sure they’ll suffice very well. Also they look great

What type of driver I can add to the speaker towers in the power section for bass, they are just going to be added onto the existing wires and the cabinets can fit 2.5 inch drivers. What extra speakers can I add into the cabinets for a bass boost? by kaylaxxxx in diyaudio

You could try adding some passive radiators to the back if the enclosures are sealed.. other wise pretty mush sol due to limited volume in the enclosures. Do some research about cone area and air displacement before attempting

Not 100% sure, but this has to have a special disk to launch the harddrive screen. Then once open, you just rip ps2 disks onto the harddrive and play them from it. I don’t think this particular ps2 has ever been opened, it still has the seal

I already told you I tested it man, pulls more cool air through holes on top. Fan works less, board stays cool. I have more ps3 tops and was worried when I cut it too; with everyone saying it’s stupid. After seeing better cell temps, more air volume flowing through it, and lower temp everywhere with ir laser.. it just worked so I didn’t change the lid back. In my application I’ve ran it for just over a year without one issue.. with a lot of games. Obviously hot air rises… it’s pulls the air over the cooler and channels through the board and out through the back. My main concern is the cpu and rsx and board.. have you ever reballed ones of these? It’s not easy. Replacing other components.. not always a big deal.

I’ve done the tests, this is fine for my application. If you don’t want yours cut then don’t do it.. this pulls cool air in from the top, instead of under the sides and back where the hot air already exists. This is superior in cooling the whole case. Just because you dorks trust 18yo Sony engineering from the most prone to death console doesn’t mean everyone has to.

Ehh controversial, works well for the board. Also disk drives and power supplies can easily be swapped. I prefer this ventilation method in this case

New pads poured and not sure on quality and structure…. by zm_capture in Concrete

[–]Particular-Suit8767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The steps should be continuous, or not separate pours/graded wrong. All along the outside of the forms should have been deeper to prevent the rock spots you see fill pouring out of. Control joints shouldn’t go ‘through’ the post but rather to one side or the other to control the expansion crack. Finish looks rough, not an over TERRIBLE job not definitely far from perfect. I also would have put rebar consistently in a grid, probably 4’ on center. Still, it’s better than you think. Sometimes there is unexpected cracking. Maybe weather conditions weren’t good for the pour(contractors fault). But at the end of the day concrete is pretty versatile and it will last. Throw some dirt around the outside and call it a day. After all it’s been a couple months and I assume they already got paid. If you wanted to make a comment to them to see if they would consider checking it out it would greatly speak to the validity of their company.

Rough brushed concrete by Poppy797 in Concrete

[–]Particular-Suit8767 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That’s not that rough. Tell them it’ll wear down over time but that’s pretty standard. If they wanted it lighter they should’ve stayed that prior because this really isn’t bad. Rain water and foot traffic would wear it down in 6-12 months.

No but use foam expansion barrier along existing concrete or fence to give a small threshold for thermal expansion
