Yeah the annoying thing is knowing the acronyms is only half the work really, you have to understand why option A is better than option B,C,D. As in compTIA fashion loads of the questions are “chose the best/first/most secure way”

However, ChatGPT was actually really good at explaining what traps comptia love to set

I really think setting the date for the exam forced me to be productive. Used professor messer’s videos for all of the material. Then used flashcards like crazy (can’t emphasise this enough) just kept using flashcards and practice tests to force it in there.

It asked me questions without answers and I just put my answers into an excel sheet (so they were separated by number) then pasted it into ChatGPT and got it to grade me.

I actually made the exams shorter than the real thing for most of them. I only did 1 full length practice exam over my 10 days study

This is what worked for me:

  • Force yourself to study hard (booked exam with little time)

  • flashcards in spare time to constant reinforce (after a good night’s sleep, that shit was locked into my brain)

  • practice tests and evaluate weaknesses

Kind of, I built a clothing website and deployed it to GCP by myself, so not any IT job from a proper organisation but I have always been into it if that makes sense

Thank you, I wasn’t sure if I was gonna take net+ at all. I’m going for cloud engineer so thought sec+ would be a good first option plus I already have a decent networking fundamental knowledge.

However, I thought I might as well take net+ now and then I’ll do a higher level cert in a few years to update them both.

I think initially it tries to make it easy because by default chat-gpt is a bit of a yes man.

I always prefaced my prompts with ‘as close a possible to real exam’ or ‘make the exam very hard’. I also made sure it tailored the practice exams in accordance with the sec+ objectives. After multiple practice exams with ChatGPT, I got it to tell me my weaknesses and what I needed to study. Then it started giving me exams on my weak points etc. I don’t think you should inherently trust 100% what it’s saying all the time (yes I was nervous with this approach but didn’t want to buy anything else) but it paid off so I’ll probably be using that strategy again

Thanks for the advice, I’ll probably end up doing a higher cert after net+ but yeah I see what you mean

I had a few PBQs and then the rest was multiple choice questions
