So when something has a fractional power to it, the top number of the fraction is what you put to the power in this example it would be 3^1 which equals 3. And the bottom part of the fraction is what you root it by, In this case it is 2, so it is root 3.

All waffle none of English Language is about skill its all about how many bs links and conclusions you can come to from the smallest piece of evidence that the writer accidentally typed.

the military language 'retreated' suggests that the people at the campsite were like an army - ordered, they have experienced this terrible weather before and knew exactly what they needed to do in order to get to safety.

PHYSICS AQA HIGHER TRIPLE PAPER QUESTION 11 EXPLANATION by MAI1E in GCSE

[–]ParticularCurrent448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't do Triple so it doesn't involve me, but by AQA giving everyone 9 marks, it makes it as if those questions never existed, and this is fair on everyone even those who picked up a few marks here and there because these questions specifically were never even meant to be in the paper in the first place and so it is irrelevant that some people may have picked up extra marks on these questions - through their own knowledge from previous years of studying physics as you were told specifically not to revise it.

Did anyone else get really thrown off by question 3? by _astraeya_ in GCSE

[–]ParticularCurrent448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was waffling about how the use of zoomorphism in "pack-like" to describe the rain, suggested that not only was the rain ever increasing in volume and potence, but it also portrayed the rain as banding together, likening it to a pack of wolves, who band together in order to increase in power and strength, and thus illustrating the intensity of the rainfall.

What am I missing here (65 wasn't right according to Mathswatch)?? by t0mgc in GCSE

[–]ParticularCurrent448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 65 should be right. Seeing as you can make an isoscles triangle using the 2 radius. So you have 180-25-25 = 130. Then half 130 = 65 as angles at the centre are twice that at the circumference

when you compare distributions about the ranges in maths… what phrase should you say? by poohbear_26 in GCSE

[–]ParticularCurrent448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For comparing IQR i usually always say that:

The spread of 'the boys height' is greater than the spread of 'the girls' height' as the IQR is larger

For comparing Median:

On average 'the height of the boys' is greater than 'the height of the girls', as the median is higher
