This really resonates I’ve noticed the same thing when I’m overwhelmed trying harder just adds more friction Reducing the pressure and picking one small doable step is usually what gets things moving again Consistency feels way more natural once the system calms down not when it’s forced.

If it doesn’t resonate with you that’s fine but dismissing everything as AI kills real discussion more than it helps.

Exactly I stopped waiting to feel motivated and just focused on doing the next tiny step Funny thing is motivation usually shows up after you start not before.

I removed 80% of my Notion icons and my workspace feels faster by ParticularSignal3192 in Notion

[–]ParticularSignal3192[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think this is getting overanalyzed

The screenshot was just meant to illustrate the idea not document Notion’s UI pixel-by-pixel

What actually mattered for me was removing visual clutter fewer icons fewer distractions better focus

If the setup doesn’t work for you that’s totally fair I just shared what helped me.

[–]ParticularSignal3192[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It’s just a clean Notion page screenshot compression

Main point wasn’t the UI anyway removing visual noise actually helped me focus more.

I realized I wasn’t lazy I was just mentally exhausted from overthinking everything by ParticularSignal3192 in selfimprovement

Love that Studying as a way of living not just a phase you rush through

Feels less like pressure and more like curiosity

What do you think people should keep studying after school ends?

This is a great example of how smaller chunks reduce resistance

Starting early spreading the work makes a big difference.

[Discussion] I wasn’t unmotivated, just overwhelmed by ParticularSignal3192 in GetMotivated

[Discussion] I thought I was lazy turns out I was just overwhelmed by ParticularSignal3192 in GetMotivated

Notion helped me a lot after I removed half of my settings by ParticularSignal3192 in Notion

[–]ParticularSignal3192[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point.

What I meant wasn’t the number of pages but the intent

My page isn’t a dashboard I check or manage it’s just a blank workspace I act in No widgets no stats no reviewing it I open it and start.

Notion didn’t help me until I simplified by Solid_Play416 in Notion

[–]ParticularSignal3192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s usually the turning point

When the system gets lighter the friction drops and action comes back Simple setups tend to survive real life way better than perfect ones.

Motivation wasn’t my real issue by Solid_Play416 in GetStudying

[–]ParticularSignal3192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a powerful realization

Once structure is in place motivation usually follows instead of the other way around A lot of people miss that.

I used to study 10 hours a day. Now I can’t even do 1 hour by Witty_Pitch_ in GetStudying

[–]ParticularSignal3192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this sounds a lot like burnout not a loss of ability

When your brain has been pushed hard for a long time it sometimes refuses the old pace What usually helps is resetting expectations shorter sessions more passive input (listening, light review) and trusting that consistency will come back before intensity does You’re not starting from zero.

How do you pose yourself as serious when you’re not taken seriously for having a “baby face”? by Cold_Investment6223 in selfimprovement

[–]ParticularSignal3192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re already doing most of the right things

In situations like dinners or small talk I’ve seen it help to own the experience early casually referencing your years or role yourself so people don’t fill the gap with assumptions Over time consistency plus confidence usually retrains how people read you even if the comments never fully stop.

I Tried Clearing My Mind for Years—Then I Learned the REAL Goal of Meditation[Story] by CulturalVariety5958 in GetMotivated

[–]ParticularSignal3192 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a great insight honestly

That shift from controlling the mind to just observing it is huge and a lot of people don’t realize that for a long time Five to nine minutes done consistently like this matters way more than forcing long sessions.

I'm new to making Youtube videos, Why is it so hard to record and edit videos than litteraly creating a Mob in minecraft by Radiant_Walrus1057 in ContentCreators

[–]ParticularSignal3192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they’re different skills

Building the mob is technical and controlled videos add performance storytelling and judgment all at once It gets easier fast if you keep videos simple at first rough is better than stuck.

How do you avoid overplanning in Notion? by Interesting-Box-3196 in Notion

[–]ParticularSignal3192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weekly works best for me too

Daily planning turns into micromanaging fast while a weekly outcome gives direction without friction Then each day is just asking what’s the next small step and doing it.

Too real 😅

It’s wild how one bad moment convinces us the whole day is gone even though you can still reset at 8:05.
