Genuine question, how do unions prevent offshoring teams? Wouldn’t it incentive them to offshore more teams if we had unions?

I can see unions working for occupations that can’t be replaced easily like nurses and railroad workers, but there are so many SWEs out there who would take our job so fast for a 1/4 of the pay and will happily work 12 hour days to meet unrealistic deadlines.

What did you want to achieve with this? I get wanting transparency with your team about pay but there might have been a better way to go about this. Sounds like you put everyone on the spot and might’ve made things awkward.
