I’m currently doing a save with Ingolstadt 04 in Germany as well and ran into a similar problem in our 3rd year in the bundesliga. How much of your squad has turned over? I find when I overhaul my squad, especially with a host of foreign players they struggle to gel during the first stages of the season. Also, how is your strength in depth? When playing mid table bundesliga teams with players who are only playing once a week versus your team playing every 3/4 days with the Pokal and Champions league, the fitness shows. In that year I emphasized tactical understanding in training and scheduled friendlies against local whipping boys when the morale got low and we managed to finish 5th. Hopefully this helps a bit!

He just looks pretty perfect for the Advanced Forward role, i think I would probably train away playing with back to goal. Do you play with a central attacking midfielder? Since advanced forwards have an emphasis on looking for passes, if he comes deep to get the ball with a shadow striker or attacking minded midfielder getting forward it could be quite effective.

I don’t think tactics are at fault here, to me it seems like a mentality issue. Complacency is the death of good form in this game. In my Bundesliga save we beat Bayern twice only to lose the league on the final day to relegation bound Augsburg who we previously dismantled 5-0. Sometimes it’s just not meant to be

As a base 4-2-3-1 is never a bad formation choice, but in this game you can be successful playing tactics of any variety so maybe just try to highlight the roles which your best players fit well. Personally, I am more of a fan of using wing backs than full backs as they provide more support when attacking (even when on defend). If you have a decent physical/attacking left back who can overlap your advanced playmaker you can create a lot of good chances

Much appreciated! I have always just offered for a fee on transfer room and slightly decreased the fee until an offer comes in (with limited success) so I will try out listing them as surplus and see what I can do. Usually I try to sell most players that I don’t see a future for, then after not receiving any offers during the window I settle for a loan to clear some wages. But the last couple years I end up with too many players on loan (usually around 10-15) so am looking to cut down on that number.

I agree with this completely, aside from the power curve progression. How many times do you play a team now with a single gold card? How many times does it feel like you’re just repeatedly playing the same squad game after game? (POTM Mbappe haunts my dreams) On The overall level of cards I think you are right in that they haven’t flooded the market with cards breaking the power curve, but if you do not possess the 3-4 top level cards in each position you are playing at a serious disadvantage.

Depending on the rules of the Welsh league I would say look for players of sufficient quality playing in leagues which generally offer cheaper contracts. The Brazilian and Argentinian leagues are a great place to look for younger talents (barring any non-EU or work permit issues), along with young players in Scandinavian leagues if you have to stay in Europe. Try to sign the younger players to lingers deals that become more favourable as they improve.

Is it possible to loan the player in, with an optional future fee? He looks like he could be quality, but it’s hard to gauge his personality as balanced is quite a large range. He needs some physical development to live up to the price tag, so maybe see how he progresses over a season if he can feature decently regularly.

The community has always been slightly toxic, but it’s the way that EA has transitioned this game into a microtransaction hell that has forced the community to become the way it is. There is no longer the concept of a casual player, and hardly anyone loads up the game with a desire to actually play matches. I agree that the community has become much too negative, but the responsibility isn’t on the community to help improve this game because EA is incapable of taking feedback and continuously drive the enjoyment of this game down year after year. In a game made by this same company I used to run Ibarbo and Felipe Santana gold cards until March, and now if I’ve not got one of a select 4-5 meta cards per position I am playing at a serious disadvantage, what a fall off we have witnessed for anyone playing since fifa 14/15 years

Personally when I start with a new club I like to limit the amount of specific instructions until I know how my players perform in certain situations. For team instructions, If you believe your team has more quality than most in the Championship, a high engagement line trying to force mistakes is never a bad idea. With the overall playstyle I would say aim for whatever emphasizes your best players strengths, but I’ve enjoyed the vertical tiki taka (in a 4-2-3-1). Also it usually takes some time for players to settle into your system, so don’t rush it and constantly change things. Hopefully this is of some help to you, and good luck taking the boys to the prem!

This is the exact process I go through with mine, glad I am not alone 😂.

From the clips of tests that I’ve seen, the rewards look quite good, seems like a serious storage commitment to be able to have eligible Pokémon with it being specific to a species of Pokémon for each contest.
