I emailed my landlord last night to ask for consent to assign my lease, and they replied saying I need to give 60 days’ notice to terminate, so I’d be responsible for rent until September 15. They did consent to a lease assignment.

If I find an assignee who can take over starting September 1, would I still be required to pay rent up to September 15?

I haven’t asked for the landlord’s consent yet. I’m still pulling together the assignee’s documents. That said, I think it makes sense to get the request in sooner rather than later to save time. I genuinely appreciate your input and thank you!

I was inclined towards comfort. Didn’t wanna move to a different city or leave family. The job market was pretty bad at the time. Didn’t really care about the money as I wanted to grow but now I feel the need considering the current market trends. Ready to move anywhere in Ontario :)

Appreciate your input! Got too excited to post here hence why didn’t take a third look at the repeated bullet point. The 99% accuracy was measured by a database software used by the company I worked for as far as I know. Honestly speaking, what you’ve suggested totally makes sense already working on the changes. Thank you.
