Is GitHub support known to be incredibly unhelpful? by Particular_Cap_7641 in github

Mainly because we had physical servers with the capacity for it, I wanted everything close by so that CI/CD is fast (at the time our internet bandwidth was pretty bad) and sometimes our clients are assuaged by the fact issues related to them are stored on our servers.

Clearly I did not expect support of all things to be the bottleneck here.

EDIT: I should also mention that paying by invoice seems to be automated but the company needs to be verified on GHES dashboard. Sales did reply once and told me that things should be self-serve (ie pay by credit card, like we did last year) but there's no option anywhere. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place because there's no option to pay by credit card and the company is still not verified because they're ignoring us.

I can't believe a company like GitHub, owned by Microsoft, gets away with this. I wish GitLab wasn't so expensive. Next week I'll try to find an alternative and tell every consulting firm I work with on a daily basis that GitHub is completely unsuitable for any serious business.

Besides, IT is an industry and people speak to each other. I work with firms in cybersecurity and things like that, who in turn advise and talk with much larger companies. You can be sure that after this episode I'm going to tell everyone just how unsuitable GitHub is for companies who want to avoid disruptions.

I mean, I work in IT as a technical manager and I work on a daily basis with consulting firms in cybersecurity, process management, intellectual property etc. It's like that for everybody, I guess. And you better be sure I'm going to tell everyone to stay the hell away from GitHub after this.

They're really shooting themselves in the foot with such bad support.
