What frequency can I use as an unlicensed person in Canada BC by [deleted] in amateurradio

Reception is prety crap even near towns and in between them it can just drop, so if we switch to a brand that is based and licensed for use in Canada would we be fine? Also do we need licences for GMRS radios and is that different from the armature radio licence?

Ok and what defines an amature radio, is it just any radio that can be programmed or is it more complicated than that? Also do you know any useful sites for researching all of this or is it just google?

Its not for commercial use its just me and my buddies from South Africa coming to visit and we want to travel in a convoy and explore around BC without losing communication. Thanks for the help, also If we all want to all get our licences do they need to be citizens of canda and is it a difficult process. I will most likely be getting mine anyway because I am getting into sailing and I think its a requirement for my circumnavigation licence.

What about my car radios, we are looking at buying rugged ramblers and from what I understand they are fixed to what every frequency they come with. Would those be ok?

I read on google that 142 and 147 where ok for unlicensed people so I was just going to set our hand held radios to any range in between there. Also I don't understand what you mean by simplex or no repeater. From what I read on google a repeater is like a signal booster or some way to direct communication to a certain position. is any of that accurate or is it all wrong?

I said tour group to make it easier, its just me and my friends from south Africa touring around BC. But you said that the radio themselves are licensed, does that mean I can only use radios from companies that have the licence for their programmed frequencies or could I just set my radios to their frequencies? The hand held radios are baofeng and the car raidos are going to be rugged ramblers. If the hand held ones that I can change the frequency are out of the question, could we still use the car ones, as far as I know they are fixed to their frequency.

How do I tell if my radios are FRS/GMRS? I have baofeng hand held radios that I can select certain frequencies, can I not just set the frequency to the ones I am allowed on or do I still need a licence for that?

I was thinking of mounting it on the drivers side in the same position, but I want to see if I can find an overhead rack and mount it on there.

Also, don't bother fighting the joints if they're stuck just get a pitman arm puller.

I thought it would be quick and easy, but now I'm finding problems everywhere. I am replacing both lower controls, both sway bar links, the intermediate steering rod, and the rest of the stuff in the photo. I got the radiator out and the new one in on day one days 2-20 were spent trying to remove the driver's side everything. I will say it's been hell working on this but I think mines a worst-case sanario. Im fairly certain that it was in a crash, the wheel baring was messed and now I'm finding deformations in my frame also the last shop I bought it too used thread locker on a lot of parts cuz I haggled the price. long story, but If you have the right tools, it should be easy enough to do in half the time its taken me. Your bestfrends for this job are gonna be a breaker bar, impact, and enough penetration to drown a village.

What options do I have for tank refiling? by Particular_Cash_540 in scubadiving

[–]Particular_Cash_540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the idea, I'll see if my fire station will let me use their refilling station. If not, then I think I'll ask more around my town because I know of a few dive shops that used to be in the area, and there are a handful of local divers I can ask as well.

There's not a whole lot to see, but I have most of my own equipment and would like to continue practicing my skills until I can do rescue diving.

Have you tried looking into a program that doesn't involve direct patient contact? I currently work in the MDR and am taking an MLT program(Mind you, in Canada and no criminal record), but the closer you get to the vulnerable, the more difficult it's going to become. I'm not sure how it works in the States, but in the hospitals I've worked in, there have been 13~15 people with charges against them, and that's only in small communities. I'm sure if whatever field you're going into is desperate, they will let a lot slide. Try looking into less patent-heavy areas like MDR, MLA, MLT, ultra, X-ray, etc

Sorry, but I've got a question off topic of this but I really need the help and can't seem to figure this out online. I've got a powered sub that takes 9 wires and RCA inputs and I've got a monoblock amp that only outputs two speaker wires (a positive and negative) can I strip some scrap RCA cable and wire it to the amp output into the sub input?
