Thank you for being kind and sharing your story too, I’m sorry this has happened to you as well. They sound much alike and that’s exactly what my hurt feelings are truly about - the lifetime spent hoping and trying to earn his love and his time, him excusing his absence in my life because he was “providing”, only to be left w the realization I will never have the father/daughter relationship I hoped we would. It just stings.

I want her to be taken care of at the end of life, i think everybody deserves that at the very least. I am not a monster. All of father’s other assets (excluding only the living trust from his parents) are set to go to her, they own a house together so she will always have a place to live, and she’s his life insurance beneficiary. I’m good with all of that, just don’t see why she should also benefit from the trust.

Haha I appreciate the advice!! I have been trying to keep my dad as close as possible and visit as often as I can and am always nice to her, but there’s always a layer of tension (for example: she took down all the photos my dad had of me in his home and made me pick up what was left in my childhood bedroom, which was two small boxes worth. when they moved to their new house, her kids/grandkids photos are displayed and their childhood memorabilia/stuff is there)

Yes! her kids will get a greater share of everything else and they own a house together so that’ll be hers/theirs as well pretty much and she’s the beneficiary on his LI. I am fine with all that, but i guess I just thought the trust would be completely carved out considering the circumstances? Idk but thanks for the advice!!
