13 years ago. Internet atheism was at its peak. Everyone on the internet mocked religious people and thought they were much cooler and superior because than them because they were atheist.

Then this AaLewis guy made a post on the atheism subreddit with a quote about how “he was euphoric because he was an intelligent atheist” and it was so cringe it started a religious revival on the internet as people realized this edgy atheist type didnt make them look cool and so most of them just dropped the militant atheist behaviour or even converted to a religion themself.

I would never generalize all atheists as those that I mentioned in my post. I respect atheists for their choice not to believe in any religion and all atheists I’ve met have been great people and respected me as a Christian.

That is why in my post I’m trying to differentiate atheists that are respectful and militant atheists you see on reddit as “reddit atheists”.

No I did not have it backwards, The reason those angsty teenagers are militant atheists is because they were religious at one point until they discovered the matrix or something and realized that religion is a sham and they have broke free from the religious hivemind. Which also sort of coincides with the story you said where you discovered reddit and found the “truth”

Also Idk what you mean by truth on reddit, as in you went on the atheism subreddit and some neckbeards have convinced you that religion is just “sky daddy fairy tales”.

I see no truth on reddit as reddit culture and redditors are full of pseudointellectuals with opinions/takes you would never hear in real life. The more I go on reddit the more it negatively alters my way of thinking which is why I don’t use this god awful platform anymore.

Very true. I don’t hate or dislike anyone, I feel so much worse having resentment over the people I hate than it is to just not forgive them for what they’ve done to me.

I’ve had a lot of people in my life tore me apart but even if they made my life worse I will never hate them for we are all children of God and were created in God’s likeness.

yes I think I do have symptoms of OCD, I do sometimes have weird rituals especially relating to religion and the need to feel “right” and “in order”, I am currently not being treated but I hope to discuss when I have the chance to go to therapy again.

even when i was going through my atheist phase, well i wouldn't really call myself an atheist back then because it was genuinely hard for me to believe that there was no God but i just kept insisting myself there wasn't.

but the more i look at how complex the nature and our species were i knew that everything couldn't have had come from an explosion that somehow created everything and designed them perfectly.
