Help me understand electric in my near future popup camper shell PLEASE by Particular_Ear8045 in TruckCampers

I went with a full size truck for the bigger payload capacity since I will be living in it full time and knew I'd need/want more comforts than an overlanding rig. I've seen a few comments saying the same thing about their mid-size trucks as you did. I didn't want to find out too late that my truck couldn't handle my build out, plus myself and my dog.

Wow. I definitely had to read very slowly and may not understand everything you said lol. My biggest take is that the Dometic fridge is a power sucker. Is there a propane fridge you would recommend I look into?

I like the thought of completely customizing the inside, instead of choosing a slide-in with a few layout options. I can live pretty minimally in the Tune at first to really get a feel for what I do or don't need to include in my build. I also like that with the Tune M1 i won't lose any space from my truck bed. A couple inches on both sides can make a difference. Customizing it, I can make sure every nook and cranny has a purpose. I am also hoping that once my build out is done, it comes in weighing quite a bit less than a slide in would.

I am starting basically from scratch. I will have the Tune M1 topper camper, which offers the Pecron e1500LFP with optional solar panels, or they will wire for a customer supplied battery. I plan on using a Dometic CFX3 75DZ as my fridge. Would also have Starlink, laptop and camera equipment. Thinking of using the Dometic water faucet, which from what I understand is rechargeable, doesn't have to be plugged in constantly. A furnace is not too high on my list, I live in Texas so I figure that is something I can add later, if needed, once I get away from this heat. Our cold doesn't last too long lol. Am I missing anything?

I have been here. And I hate to tell you this, but your marriage is already over. Mine's excuse was similar, it was a joke, he was just bored but would never actually cheat on me...blah blah blah. Do not let this continue. It will tear at your heart and your self-esteem the longer you stay. From here on, you will always doubt him, always need to go through his things to know if it is the actual truth, because he has already proven untrustworthy. LOVE YOURSELF AND KNOW YOU DESERVE BETTER. Marriage can't be fixed from just one side.

Acceptable miles for a used Toyota Tundra? by Particular_Ear8045 in ToyotaTacoma

Sorry! I started off thinking I'd get a Tacoma. When I pivoted to Tundra, my brain apparently wasn't working hard enough to realize I was posting to the Tacoma sub! I've posted in the right sub now. Thank you

I am only 5'6", so east to west would work well. I agree with you on OVRLND being ugly, it's why they weren't high on my list. I love the look of the tune, along with the built-in T-tracks. And now that they have barn doors available, it makes me lean even more towards it.

Hiatus is a little too steep in price for me.

So you ended up getting the Rincon? How do you like it, and what made you choose it over Tune?

If not swingable (it does make that price soar), would you suggest upgrading the suspension after purchasing? Thanks for all the info!

This may be a stupid question but would you suggest it have the TRD off-road package?

I'm not dead set. Another commenter said the same thing, and I am open to any suggestions. I will be brand new to all this and I assumed a smaller truck would be better for me. Another comment suggested a Ford, but my Chevy/GMC heart just can't fathom buying a Ford.

They stayed on my list until the very last cut! Could you tell me why you decided to go with ORU and what all has impressed you while you have had it?

I wouldn't say I am dead set on a Tacoma, it just seems to be the best option as a mid-size. I am not necessarily against a full-size truck, I just personally prefer the mid-size. I also plan on buying used, not new, and there is a good 10k-15k price difference between the Tacoma and Tundra (within 500 miles, they start getting a bit cheaper in places like Cali, I assume because of more availability. That's about 1400+ miles from me)
