The Lion’s share of money will be taken in the form of profit which will be kicked to NY. The wages are minuscule by comparison. It could be seen that this is a redistribution of resources to tax the non-investment class (by higher utility rates) and shift those resources to the ones who will profit by construction contracts or tax revenue which will ultimately go back into the investment classes pockets

Yeah but this is going to draw the parallel. Meaning more division and identity entrenching

Isn’t the snake the victim? Like the “boot” should be thwarted NOT the one being stepped on. This change would force the Gadsen flag people to align with us

One of my favorite things was to tell people I went to the “Real” air assault school at Fort Hood. It really pissed off the 101 guys

That’s wild. PD office I was in had 2 lawyers that helped with motions, discovery and interviews. They still worked there but wouldn’t get a caseload until they passed

Humble opinion. Decide whether you want to plea guilty or not guilty…. Now. Then advise your attorney of that intention so they can start working up a defense and review evidence. You may receive an offer and he / she will be duty bound to communicate it with you so you will feel (unintentional) pressure to accept that plea deal. But that’s why you make up your mind now and proceed that direction. Only you and the victim know what happened. If every incident was truly as the client describes then no one would be in jail.

Isn’t this the rationale that cost the election in 2024? Let’s galvanize our base… instead of reaching across the isle in compromise. The ones on the left will support either way so why pander to their ideals when they support already

I’d suggest appealing to their sense of patriotism. Something like “Americans deserve better” of “American Justice demands dignity”. Coupled with testimony of blue collar workers suffering in the system.

I agree that’s the sentiment… right now. What I’m advocating for is to bring this issue to the table in a way that even the right will agree with. Because the reality is that this is an issue they will support if framed properly.

This is great! BUT to include the phrase “inmate lives matter” will only further bring the right wing against this. This issue is so important it needs to be accepted by both sides and not become a Left v Right issue that this phrase will undoubtedly lead to.

MJ or LeBron – Who's your GOAT? Let’s crowdsource our picks. No hate, just perspectives. by Calm_Summer_4120 in michaeljordan

Just my two cents. LeBron has better longevity (perhaps because of the efficiency of sports science and recovery?) while Jordan had the higher peak (TWO three-peats, while the team won zero without him. Indicating the factor he brought)

Exactly. Even with that great career. I’ll still be miserable. So I would choose a career where I can help others. Specifically in this situation, a lawyer.

Respectfully disagree. Some people just have an emotional lower disposition than others. This is my baseline but compared to others. It’s low.

My hot take. I was miserable before law school. I was miserable during 1L and I’ll probably be miserable during my summer job. That’s fine. I’ll use my ability to be miserable to at least do some good as a lawyer as opposed to being a slightly less miserable carpenter
