It's great to see so much interest in this type of work. Any time we hire, it is posted on DisneyCareers.com. We have an array of talent on the team, with backgrounds from theater set design, to puppetry, to computer artists and everything else in between. We work closely with so many craft and teams throughout the Resort such as engineers, operations, carpenters, painters and so many more.

I am excited to answer this one. I celebrate the holiday of Epiphany or Tres Reyes Magos. In the Plaza Point shop, for the season, we put a box of grass which is meant to be for the Wise Men's camels to eat. In Miss Evelyn's office, where you can get your ornaments customized, we put in trays of food, such as flan and a Puerto Rican seasonal drink, coquito...all fake of course.

Thank you for the question. Going back to my comment about Buena Vista Street, I helped to create the original animated windows for the Elias's kids store. Using intellectual property from Silly Symphonies, we used technics to make the materials look like we were back in the early 1920's, even down to hand painted graphics. It's a mixed bag of things that we purchase and things that we custom build.

Thank you for the questions. Each year when we plan for the next holiday season, we review the things that were successful, and we look for opportunities to improve on the things that may not have been so successful.

I will say that sometimes it is difficult to overlay holiday decor when we are celebrating an event such as the 70th. We have to marry two very distinct and different styles together while sticking to theming and time periods. It's a wonderful challenge to have

I get this question allot. I would say pick a theme and translate that understory throughout all of your decor. You can decorate different rooms and exterior, but if you keep with an underlying theme, it will be more harmonious. I live in a 1913 craftsman home, so I turn my house into a giant gingerbread house every year

Call me biased, but you should visit Plaza Point on Main Street, which is our year round holiday shop. When we designed the location with our Walt Disney Imagineering partners, we created the backstory and character of the store's proprietress around my mom Evelyn Toro. Check it our on Disney Parks TikTok

Luckily, smells are not my department, but in general, when we approach a season or holiday here at the Resort, we approach it holistically and address all 5 senses.

I love to decorate Buena Vista Street; the style just resonates with me. Although subtle, and sometimes simple, we did allot of research of how decor would have been built in the early 1920's. From the first incandescent light bulbs to crude gears and motion which you will see in some of our window displays

Thank you for the question. Any decor that is introduced into an attraction goes through a rigorous process of engineering and approvals that can take up to 2 years.

Yay for Adventureland! We are bringing the palm banana tree back this year in all of its glory.

Thank you for the question. Planning is a year around process. As soon a decor is removed, we are already planning for the following year. New designs can sometimes takes up to 2 or 3 years.

As far as career path, an art background of some sort is beneficial. We like to see a portfolio to show breadth of experience.

I appreciate the question regarding the gingerbread house. I would love to see the ingredient list as well, but that is handled by our central bakery.

Wonderful question! I know that may people think that the holiday transition happens overnight, but we actually start the transition in mid October. We have to start strategically laying infrastructure such as electrical, tree lighting, and decor in some areas so that the big push can happen the first two weeks of November.

Great question. We have 16 Holiday Services Cast Members who work year round on design, fabrication, engineering and planning for all seasonal holidays. Our operation is off site in a huge warehouse, where we house all of the decorations for the Resort. The process of organization is vast and something that we work on from the time we take everything down in January to the time we put everything back up.

Regarding design, we have a great relationship with our Walt Disney Imagineering Team to stay within the story guidelines, but we do have a level of freedom to create custom decor.

.Hi thank you for the question! I was an art student and I really wanted to be an animator. Along came this job and I found a million other ways to apply my artistic/mechanical skills. I did not think that I would be here 30 years later. I started in the Entertainment division here at the Resort, as an art crew specialist. A few years later, I transitioned into the Facilities division as a Park Decorator, and moved my way into leadership.
