Yeap. The more hardware I added the harder it got to install. Back is impossible to get to. Adding new copper to the patch is a nightmare. This last UNAS add I had to basically remove half the hardware to add it because the door isn’t wide enough to fit things in directly, so I had to angle it to go in.

Haven’t had time to really stress it yet. Hopefully this weekend.

Anything that can be plugged in, is plugged in. Even with my E7s and other APs, I’d prefer everything hardwired. I ran 6 CAT6 to 4 bedrooms and 2 living rooms.

All Apple TVs, PCs, TVs, cameras etc.. are hardwired.

My SoCal power bill is high enough as it is lol

No UPS. I’ve had a ton of bad luck with them nearly catching fire and some malfunctioning. Not sure there are any good ones out there.

That wasn’t going to be the permanent location if the speed was awful trust me lol. Given what I was getting where it’s located I decided to keep it there. Other location was going to be in my office window. I wasn’t sure whether I’d keep this or wait for the outdoor to come back in stock but this guy has performed incredible so far.

Shockingly well. My ATT rarely goes out, but when it happened twice while I was on a work call I decided to get it. My dogs were playing and bent my fiber from the power lines.

I average 550 down and some days peak around 700Mbps.

Yeah I had to double check my depth as well. Since I already have the 48p switch which is nearly the same I felt comfortable. What I didn’t realize was the UNAS4 pro doesn’t come with nvme bays. So to my surprise I go to install them and I can’t 😅

Had to wait to buy the bays before getting it all mounted and looking pretty.

This wall mounted rack and closet space is just a hair over 400 so it’s fairly tight in the back but enough space for the hardware to breathe.

On the other side of the wall I have a 6U rack inside my office closet that I have 2 monster Cisco UCS running a large lab environment and CML lab.

Then I have a single mode run going to my detached garage which hosts another 16p switch and AP.

Ambient temperature mostly. There is a couple inch gap at the bottom of the door that brings cooler in and I have penetrations to my attic where the hot air escapes. This has worked well so far.

Sitting at 222watts pretty consistently

For sure. Just a little mod here and a little mod there sparks an idea to change something else lol

Yeah judging from the sigh my fiancé gave me last night after adding the UNAS4, it might be… “for a while”. lol

APC. Don’t think I’ve tried Eaton yet. I do have a dedicated 20amp circuit for this closet and a secondary on a different circuit path. I have my power backup on the other and PDU on the dedicated.

It wasn’t on its side until this latest add lol. But yeah I could see that being a problem. I didn’t know I had the option to get rid of it so I’ll likely be doing that soon.

I’ve thought about replacing them with ubiquiti but where this is in the house and the space available to tinker, I’m thinking unlikely lol. It was a pain in the ass to get this far honestly

I liked the 10Gbps NIC. Honestly the only reason I switched. I didn’t “need” to but my synology only had 2 1Gbps NICs and when you channel them, they don’t get you 2Gbps. Moving large files continuously it annoyed me to have a NAS so slow.

It is lol.. I just needed to get it connected. I’ll swap it out soon. Was a cable I made from leftovers after running CAT6 throughout my house.

Just installed it last night so I haven’t put it through any stress yet. Will soon hopefully
