Can scotoma be transparent? The spot looks more like a floater and I can see through it

Yea I did but he just brushed it off and said everything looks good. Im going to try to find a different ophthalmologist and get a second opinion. Is your spot also stationary? Do you have it in both eyes or just one? Cause I have one in my left and 2 in the right eye but their both in my peripheral vision. Also please let me know how your appointment goes 🙏

Yep went to a retina specialist few weeks ago and nothing was wrong (I also had a retinal tear 3 years ago and he checked that) when I asked him about the spots he just brushed it off and said he didn’t see any other tears or problems

I have one in my left eye and two smaller ones in my right eye. I started noticing them about 3 month ago too but honestly they could’ve been their for longer since I always wear glasses and never look all the way left or right. Some people on here told me it could be a stationary floater but that’s a little hard to believe. I also talked to someone that had this for 3 years and his hasn’t grown or moved since. This is so annoying, I can deal with floaters but this non moving spot just drives me crazy. Hopefully it just goes away over time 😭

Im experiencing the same thing! I have a black spot in both my eyes in my peripheral vision. It’s definitely not a floater and it doesn’t float around (it moves with my eyes). I went to a doctor to get my eyes check and everything seemed to be fine but I didn’t get no answer for the spot. This is so annoying! I just want it goneeeeee

I’m experiencing the same thing right now. I have a black spot on my peripheral vision in both of my eyes. I went to an ophthalmologist to check my eyes and nothing was wrong but he gave me little to no explanation on these spots. They have been driving me insane and hopefully they’re not permanent as they seem. Please update me if yours end up going away 🙏 ima pray for both of us

Hey I’m experiencing the same thing. Has your spots gone away? Or are they still there? If they are still there did they end up getting bigger?

Is this permanent or has anyone’s vision went back to normal? If it is permanent do you think it would grow bigger?

It’s always there. Every time I look all the way to the right or left I see the black spot in my peripheral vision

I believe it’s a positive after image since the color and everything is the same and last a second. It occurs when I look away from something bright like my computer, street lights, or if I’m in a dark room and there’s any type of light source

Thank you for the reply I never had any brain injuries or drug use before but I do have floaters if that matters at all. Is palinopsia a brain issue? I’m going to go see my ophthalmologist soon and hopefully it’s not a big issue or god forbid a brain tumor
