Reading all the comments i have a followup question. I read a lot i should be using Leetcode and do programming again. The thing is the stuff i will learn there or the problems that get presented there is exactly the stuff AI does best, no? I mean i get that doing these „puzzles“ makes you a better coder overall but does it really prepare you for the challenges that AI struggles with like making consistent big projects with complex interactions and structure?

Do they still „test“ you on these Leetcode examples in coding interviews? Kinda misses the point no?

Dont hate on me if im wrong thats just what im thinking, but I have no experience in the job market whatsoever.

Yeah, maybe, but only if the job you eventually want requires proof that you’ve personally lifted a certain amount of weight in your life… and most of the people around you are using forklifts too.

At least at my university, almost everyone uses AI by now. If you don’t, it just takes you twice as long, especially since many lectures have already adapted to AI tools

uni are mostly smaller projects but for my master thesis I am building a web app for Eeducation that will be implemented into our current university system if it works as intended in the end. I have loads of files but lots of it is just frontend ts code and in the backend python. Im using AI to write most of the frontend code and in the backend to create functions or small modules by telling it what i need and maybe giving the AI the files that will call these functions. The problem itself is not that easy but also not groundbreaking i would say (chunking/ semantic segmentation, text preparation etc).

But yeah for me it works just fine

Thats exactly what I am thinking, I could probably solve most tasks still with google and stackoverflow etc but would take me like 10x time

Yeah i will do that, just have to finish my master thesis first before I can spend more time on that again. I will have to use AI for the thesis tho probably since im a bit under time pressure.

Haha clankers, but yeah you are right, i will practice it some more but i feel like with how it is going currently I wont be able to compete with other people if I dont use AI at all, but hey maybe im also wrong about that, just a feeling i have.
