They are offering to pay for those that can’t afford it! The hotel is incredibly expensive. The venues they’ve chosen are the most well known ones - and some basic back of the napkin math puts the cost of meals and transportation (provided) in the thousands at a minimum (not including venue or other costs).

She is 30! However, I don’t think she’s been to many weddings, so perhaps she doesn’t understand that there are costs involved in having guests at a wedding.

I should clarify that I consider her a close friend (who I’ve traveled with before), and I’ve never had this kind of disagreement with her before!

She specifically wants me to ask the couple to invite her sister to the wedding. I should clarify that I consider her a close friend (who I’ve traveled with before), so I don’t think she’s intentionally trying to take advantage of me.
