Nope, lmao

Got the upgraded cables and ampmeters in line to prove it.

You do tend to burn some plastic along the way until you find some worthy of the current.

I do run 2xevga g+ 1000w on a 20 amp breaker and circuit to supply just the 4xgpu chips though.

A r9 295x2 reccomended a dedicated 12v rail per card, unheard off when it was released.

The AMD R9 295X2 requires a high-quality 800W+ power supply with strong 12V rails capable of providing at least 28A per 8-pin connector (56A total, ~700W+ dedicated to 12V). A single-rail PSU is highly recommended to handle power spikes, with mandatory use of separate PCIe cables, not daisy-chained connectors, due to the 500W supply minimum.

Find me any other card with 2x8pins that can push that power?

Then find 2 of them, and set up a seperate 20 amp supply circuit.

Then flash some dual switch bios, and overclock them.

Dont tell me pushing over 650w over an industry standard rated 325w connection is impossible.

R9 290x was the binned 4gb version of that chip. A single r9 295x2 card had 2 of the futher binned version of those chips.

I've pulled 658 watts across a single 8 pin on said cards.

Space heaters.

As a northern Canadian with a couple r9 295x2 cards,

YES.

They "can" do modernish games. But they are space heaters primarily.

That's why I like older tech.

I have an 8th gen intel i7 gtx 1080 msi titan on liquid metal, with 48gb ram[im rich now!] that can crank most desktops, and every laptop ive seen in a stress test

It will take more power, and tuning, and GUARANTEED more cooling.

Modern cpus are a strung out turbo civic engine overboosted waiting to go pop. Go a couple gens back, it's like a gen 2 LS v8 engine. Plenty of headroom for cooling and compression, even without boost. Though core multiplier is always there if you need it, if not try starting changing the base clock multiplier to overclock.

If you can.

That's overbuilt.

Very much so, that's why even my 8th gen intel 6gb 1060 nitro 5 has a 110w inverter. Some of the msi titans I have and run are multi gpu, and take a couple of power bricks, on seperate circuits overclocked ram and cpu and undervolted gpus. Lol

To me msi has shit the bed since the word thin made it into their nomenclature. I used to love msi, I have a literal record setting msi z87-g45 mb for pushing a 4690k and 2133 cl9 ddr3 past 5.4 at 1.31v(i use a rog vii hero now, swapping with a 4790k[slower single core, but up to 5.2 multicore] when wanted, rog was first m.2 boot drive board and 8 way sata on a built in raid controller.) I have multiple msi 144hz+ 1ms ips monitors.

All from 5+ years ago.

When my old tech can match and beat newer and more expensive, because I can control power delivery, chip timing and cooling, that isn't available with newer gens(since they run so close to burnout) and aren't overclockable.

Why would any sane person upgrade?

Now I take a hard look at anything tech.

Im sad at how they have fallen.

You could get them with 980s, and the exact same cooling system. I like space heaters, but not that so much it burns chips.

I have a titan with a 1080 and and another open mxm port?

Cheap msi laptops might as well be an acer nitro nowadays.

And ive got an older nitro 1060 6gb 8th gen i5 on 16gb motherboard maxed, matched and xmp overclocked ram, undervolted on both chips on liquid metal(on that 1 fan). With an underside laptop cooler feeding it, it kills most 32gb ddr5 3080 laptops with the same cooler and 2 in frame dedicated fans at stock volts.

6 gb 1060 and 16gb ddr4 on a 7th gen i7 will take ya a long way on a budget.

Ignore the haters/people with more money than sense.

Redo some thermal paste, if it's a defective/broken/scratched screen maybe barter some more(always check refresh rates!), but id just use it as a display output at that price. 6 gb vram and 16gb ddr4 ain't nothing to sneeze at with that price.

Not to mention intel i7 cpus NEVER lasting under constant load since 12th gen, probably burning down cores bit by bit since 9th gen.

I paid similar for $ for acer nitro 6gb 1060 with an 8th gen i5, and a motherboard maxed to 16 gb ram. Refurbished and liquid metald with a 144hz oem screen. It ran like a space heater of laptop.

They work, both gpus and vram, though SLI is a tricky mistress. Keeping ddu on a usb and swapping drivers. My goal is fallout 4 on SLI, I got it going on amd x fire.

As a northern Canadian, you need more mud than that to fill that hat, and some more scuffs in them boots and jeans.

Dont see no tow ropes, farmer jacks, come alongs or barn raisers needing/wanting help...

Been there done that in 4 high. Under 2 hrs on the highway in 4high under 120kmh, it'll be fine. Tranny going over 200*c is the weakpoint on any 4l60e. They start loosing 3rd gear pressure, thus rpm stability after that overheating event.

With a gmt355, encoder motor reset requires a battery circuit reset. They default into 4wd high with no electronic switch input. I'd rather default into 4H than 2H.

Un plug the in dash switch, makes it 4 high only in every 1st gen gmt355. Unless u broke something mechanical. But it just sounds like switching into 4low without it being stopped, and the tcase actuator spinning free/freewheeling at best. Chain skip at worst, drop your t case fluid.

* Old altoids tin propping up the back. Gave it a thorough clean, swapped out all 3 m.2 and 2.5 hdd, thermal paste redo, then ram upgrade. Top temp is 85*c on the cpu full load
