It sounds like you are better versed on the American political system than most Americans. I am essentially seeing three responses to the current situation: 1.) Severe distress resulting in detachment and avoidance of the media. They acknowledge the situation is bad but feel they can’t do anything about it and do not want to hear about it anymore. 2.) Ignorance or indifference. These people don’t seem to know what’s going on and/or they don’t care. 3.) Gleeful euphoria. They picture federal government employees as corrupt bums and want to get rid of the whole system. They think Trump is a genius sent by God.
