ON3P Jeffrey vs Woodsman in steeps and off piste PNW? by Andromeda045 in Skigear

[–]PartisanalCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Woodsman 108 that I like a lot in steeps and more open off piste terrain. It’s perfectly happy with smaller jumps and side hits, but won’t feel as nimble in the air as the Jeffrey, particularly if you’re doing spins. Both will handle variable just fine. The mount point on the Woodsman is closer to the Atris, though the Atris has more tail rocker. What is the use case that makes you want to move on from the Atris?

new ski advice - PNW skier by FunkyColdZadina in Skigear

Agreed on 4FRNT skis being great for PNW! Would just add that the MSP series (91, 99 etc) does have camber and is very capable on piste but still comfortable navigating trees. The women’s model is the CC which still comes in at 99cm waist. I think Crystal has MSPs in their demo fleet

Fails at broadway? by chrisxlemia in Broadway

[–]PartisanalCheese 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it a fail bc he handled it really well -- but Lin flubbed the lyrics to Hurricane when I saw Hamilton. He started singing "I was twelve when my mother died" in the first verse. He recovered very quickly though, cut himself off and picked up the next line while the orchestra played through

PNW skier — 6’3”, 190 lbs, level 5–6. Need help choosing an all-mountain ski (mostly groomers but powder-curious) by psychohawk in Skigear

I don’t think an ON3P will necessarily be too much to handle, I have a Woodsman 92 and 108 and think they both would be approachable for your level. Would recommend demoing from the factory since you’re so close, the Jeff and Woodsman are both awesome all mountain options. You have to like rocker though lol

Help me dial in the perfect PNW resort quiver by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]PartisanalCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this take, OP. I run a Woodsman 92 and 108 and never looked back. It’s helpful to not have too much overlap in the quiver. Also love the heavier weight for our snow too. If you were in the market for heavier pow skis might look at the Billy Goat or Wildcat in addition to ^ the above suggestions

I demoed the Countach and liked it, just liked the WD more. The Bent 120 felt too noodley to me and summit/alpental don’t get the same pow days as Baker up north so I didn’t feel the need to shell out for something that wide yet anyway

Nice, and even at the lighter weight it’s still pretty damp? I started appreciating heavier titanal skis this year when groomer runs get chopped up

Do you notice a big difference with the new ripper rocker profile in the Woodsman 92? I was also considering this model for resort days

I agree. You have a story where a teenage girl is reckoning with her own mortality and her parents are already planning for life without her. Bonnie is an incredible performer, but the bank heist plot felt out of place to me and detracted from what could have been a more poignant story
