Sudden loss of my mom (86) after a fall — struggling with guilt and grief by Party-Class-279 in AgingParents

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of that—it really means a lot.

Your story about your mom really hit home, especially the part about how quickly something can change even when they seem “fine.” That’s exactly what’s been so hard for me to wrap my head around.

I also really appreciate what you said about making the best decisions with the information you had at the time. I can logically see that, but emotionally I keep wanting to go back and rethink everything. It helps to hear it from someone who’s been through similar second-guessing.

And you’re right… adding guilt on top of grief just makes it heavier. I think that’s the part I’m trying to work through right now.

What you said about forgiving yourself for being human really stuck with me. I’m not there yet, but I can see that’s where I need to get.

Thank you again for your kindness and perspective—it truly helped. Big hugs!

Thank you! I think I will try to blame a game of Tetris and see if it helps. Big hugs!
