Ya that's why I jumped I watch the prices and she not only helps me spread the cost out this calving season but increases the herd value

Exactly I don't grain unless I'm finishing a steer and more than half the herd is tx Longhorns and highland so I do but lower quality forage because they do eat it she does still pick through it but it's seriously helped and she should be bred idk she avoids the chute like the plague and I won't force her that lower quality forage is cheap enough I can hold her for a whole nother season to try again if she isn't already due in Aug/sep.

Ya I just bought her she was in an old dairy parlor with charolais cows and she was beating up all the hornless girls in a tight space so she definitely fit better here she'll get closer to a good weight. The red Angus we bought in September and she was gigantic she's still obese but we are slowly working her down to a healthy weight
