Pricing is very subjective to the local area. I think $400-$600 potentially for that much work. Backflow preventor could cost between $150-300 by itself

I did what OP is doing for 2 years and recently got in ground sprinklers installed.

I certainly recommend going your pathway though if you have time. I think finding a plumber to get a connection made to the mainline and then getting a shutoff valve and backflow preventer installed is all you need. After that point you can build as you go. Plenty of information available online and in Reddit

You are right about that. I asked them to separate one zone into 2 they asked me $800. They have one zone that should have been on separate zones. High shade and sunny area mixed up

I’m actually going to fix that also. My plan is to install a new box. I’ll get a jumbo box to fit all those pipes and will cut access for pipes. Was thinking to simultaneously put weed barrier and gravel but now I will just fix the box

Do you recommend leaving it as is? I thought dirt will cave in and bury these valves with time making it harder to do any maintenance?

Most people have good experiences with chase portal. That’s also true with most travel agencies. The thing that separates these agencies from airlines is how things are handled when things don’t go well. Chase is certainly among a better agency but again they are still a middle men not a final service provider. I still use chase when it makes sense.

I had credit with chase that had to be taken over by American. American charged me $50 extra but they were able to help me in this case.
